The season came to an end and now it's time to look forward. I'm still not over the loss against the heat, still sick of it. But okay, let's take a look at next year.
I will start with the core 4 guys. I assume and really hope Kevin Garnett is coming back and I think it's key to everything. Paul Pierce will continue playing for the celtics the rest of his career, I just want that and I'm sick of all the idea's of trading this celtic legend. Rondo is NOT going to be traded, he never played better then the '12 playoffs and I think he is still able to improve. Ray Allen, well maybe it's time to let him go, clear some space and we got Avery Bradley. So we got Pierce/KG/Rondo back, let's build arround that.
Supporting cast, I like Dooling back, I like Pietrus, Stiemsma is alright and I like to sign Jeff Green. I like Bass back but don't want to overpay him. So let's say we got Rondo, Pierce, Garnett, Bradley, Green, Pietrus, Dooling, Stiemsma
- Draft night, with 2 first round picks we should be able to recruit some talent. OR are we gonna trade picks, picks for players or trying to move up in the draft? Are we gonna draft, Royce White, Nickholson, One of the JOnes guys? Or trying to make a move for Austin Rivers?
- What players can we got after? Is Roy Hibbert realistic? Don't think so, he wanna stay in Indy, is Eric Gordon realistic? Well yeah why not but don't wanna give him a huge contract. I don't think he is a star, just a really good player. OJ Mayo? Don't think so, he clearly said he didn't like Boston.
Trades? Could we trade for Josh Smith? Like our 2 first round picks + Green for Josh Smith? Although I don't know if we CAN sign/trade Green. I would like to see Smith here, great defender and I think Doc can make him even better.
Same for Dwight Howard, I don't think it's realistic. Well I could see Orlando pull the trigger for the 2 first round picks, bradley and green. Thats some talent we give up but for a superstar. Maybe a 3rd team involved would make it interesting for Orlando. Don't think it's gonna happen. Would be sick. Imagine a defense with Howard and KG, teams are gonna struggle to score 80 points on us.
Maybe a player like Paul Millsap or Derrick Favors would make sense to go after, although Utah loves both and we not gonna give up a PG like Rondo.
Is anything of this possible, and what is Danny Ainge doing? Is he gonna pull of a sick couple of trades like 07-08?
Well let's make sure everything starts with the comeback of Kevin Garnett. Let's hope he decides to stay, do not retire and play 1 more year for a huge paycut so we got money to give him assets which can help him.
Go Boston!
