Do you have a link saying they are looking to move him?

EDIT: my bad, just saw the Kyler report.

Both firsts to move up 5 spots? Danny would have to be really hot for someone on the board at that point.

I was thinking of a straight deal between LA and Houston, involving Dallie and the #16 (and sweetener) for Gasol.

Houston looking to move Dalembert, but I don't think that necessarily means they're looking to give anything up to move him.

Dalembert is 7 million this season, 7 million next. There are a lot of teams out there who would jump pretty high at the chance to get a starting defensive center at 7 million for 1 more season.

Houston also has the 14th pick.  Maybe Danny can persuade them into giving us #14 for 21 and 22.

Dallie's contract isn't fully guaranteed either. His ability aside, any team looking to shed payroll would also be interested in acquiring him.

Is there a deal involving Josh Smith that makes sense for both sides?

Where are you getting that salary info?  What I have seen, he is on the books for just $7 million (ish) next season...and that is only guaranteed for $1.5 million.  Making him a very valuable (essentially) expiring contract.

My guess is they are trying to use him to move up, by taking on someones bad contract.

I don't think Houston wants salary back, and I doubt teams with cap space are jumping at Dalembert.

2 for 1.  Can no one see the irrationality of this?

I phrased that wrong. By this season I meant like..now. THe one that is almost over.

So next season its 7 million, I didn't even know it was partially guaranteed.

If got 2 twenty dollar bills, I'd gladly take one 50 dollar bill.

What about this:

Atlanta trades Josh Smith and #23
Houston trades Dalembert, Marcus Morris, and #16

Atlanta finally gets a C to allow Horford to move to PF, moves up in the draft, and unloads an unhappy Smith.

Houston gets a talent upgrade at PF. They can then look to move Scola and parts (Lowry?) to LA for Gasol.

Ah, right.  Basically, the bottom line is that Dalembert is guaranteed $1.5 million, but can be traded for a salary of $10.5 million.  That is very valuable.

Interesting. Pretty hefty price tag to move up those 9 spots.
