The above is about new Super Data Camera's being used by some NBA teams. 10 NBA teams now have it. First I've heard of it.

A NEW CAMERA SYSTEM IS ADDING A WHOLE NEW LEVEL OF ANALYTICS TO BASKETBALL.

Seems to be an incredible help for setting up defenses. And correcting one's deficiencies, on offense or defense.  If I were a defensive guard for example I could tune into the last say 10 games of an opponent and see if there's convergence or divergence in numbers and adjust one's style. Seems like cheating.

Celtics do have it. They were one of the first 5-6 teams to have it. I find it interesting that 3 of the 4 Conference Finals Teams (all except Miami) have been using this program for a few years. And last year's surprise champion, Dallas, was also one of the first teams to use it.

Here's more info about it: http://espn.go.com/blog/playbook/tech/post/_/id/492/492

Don't scouts already do this stuff using game tapes?  This makes it more efficient, sure, but teams have guys paid to do this stuff who got nothing else to do.

To me, it's just more job eliminating technology.  Bye bye to the video analysists.
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

Scout Einstein couldn't keep up with this type and amount of data volume. Just the Public Iphone Developers alone that write 650000 applications for the IPhone are examples of what can be done.  It's job eliminating technology alright. Imagine if the car were to eliminate the horse and buggy. Gotta go pitch some hay.
