Kristic would be a good sign and trade candidate. Kristic and Bass with our draft picks enough for Smith? ATL would have front line of Horford and Kristic backed by Bass and Pachulia and 3 first rounders to move up.
Celtics will have Rondo, Bradley, Green and Smith to build around for the future and add talent for another run with Big 3.
I like your thinking. I like Bass, but not as a starter, and he'll ask for starting money. Smith Rebounds and scores better, and put him in a system with these guys, you may loose the bad shot selection, especially with Rondo dictating who shoots when.
I think JJJ can be the back up PF next season. He played some in the beginning of the season when things were bad, but lost some time when they were making a move for the playoffs and Doc tighten the rotation with experienced guys, and with out practice's JJJ could learn the system right and Doc didn't feel comfortable with playing him when they were making their move.
JJJ will now have the crazy short season, summer league, and training camp. Seeing the hi-lights in collage this guy can play, strengthen his lower body(which is why he was getting killed in the post) and he will be fine.
Doc can tell KG that they are just not going to play with a center and have 2 PF's instead. I think KG didn't like center because he was the only one battling for rebounds and was getting beat on in the process. Smith will help with that a lot, and give KG even more help on the Def end, which will help keep him fresher.
I'd hate to give up both first rounds though. Maybe talk them into a second and a future? Like to have at least on Rook to try to develop for future trade.
