I love Perk, but he shouldn't be calling out his coach like that after a tough loss.  He was supposed to take Ubuntu with him to OKC.

Hopefully he left that meaningless idiotic word behind.

Perk should have kept his comments to himself or voiced them to Brooks.

I don't think "Ubuntu" was meaningless and idiotic to the 2008 Celtics.  If the word and the concept helped to unite them, that's all that matters to me.

It may have been slightly corny, but it worked.

lol swear dis dude didnt talk dis much in Boston

Why not have some respect for your fellow posters on here and make an attempt to use proper English?  It doesn't have to be the King's English, but "dis" instead of "this?" Come on, man.  You're better than that.

All series long Thunder coach Scott Brooks has been taking flack for his handling of the Thunder rotations — sitting Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook at the same time, leaving guys with hot hands on the bench, not seeming to have a feel for his team.

It’s not just you and me, Kendrick Perkins feels the same way, too.

“I just don’t understand why we start out the first quarter the way we did with the lineup we had, and all of a sudden we change and adjust to what they had going on,” a clearly frustrated Perkins said in the Thunder locker room after the game. “So they won the last three quarters and that’s what happened…

“If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”

Perkins, like all the Thunder players, had a very dejected body language after the game but spoke the words of a team not giving up.

Perk wishing he had doc coaching him right now. Hopefully he gets amnestied and signs back with the c's for 5 mil

That would be the worst signing of Danny's tenure.  $1M is all he deserves.

If you are going to post petty nonsense like that on a fan forum, which presumably is not your vocation, nobody is going to take you seriously here either.

Get over yourself.  Dis ain't the joint to be gettin' up in folks 'bout grammar and spelling . . . yo.

Petty nonsense?  I come to this site to read and discuss Celtics basketball and not to read posts from people who are clearly too lazy to type out words.  I guess I just have a problem with people who don't even attempt to speak proper english.  Maybe its a political thing but there is no reason to speak like that especially when typing.  It's almost like you want people to interpret you as being ghetto by the way you type which is the dumbest thing in the world.

Where does greed fit in here?  Perkins took a likely below market value deal to resign with them.  Had he been greedy, he would have played out the season, hit free agency, and taken top dollar, probably on a losing team.

Not to nitpick, but do you really think Perkins would've received more than 8-9 million on the open market?

More to the point, Perkins is lucky he was seeing the court at all this series. Outside of one game, he was fairly awful.

+1, TOT and Squish

If I want to read lazy acronyms I'll open a text message.
If I want to read ebonics I'll look up the "lyrics" to a gangsta rap "song".

-------------

Perk had a bad series and a case could be made he had a sub-par year.  But if Perk weren't obtained OKC wouldn't have gotten close to as far as they did.  He changed the whole defensive culture of the team when he came on board.

  • It's all about the TEAM!
Eh, I miss Perk but that ship has sailed. And while I would love to have the Perk back that we had 2-4 years ago, it's looking like he's a shell of his former self.

However, I do agree with the premise of this thread. I'm not so sure Perk has diminished so much as I feel he's not utilized very well on this team. It's a hard call.

I will say this, I was VERY unimpressed with OKC. The team, the way they played, their desire, their coaching. They just didn't look worthy to be there. To be honest, that Finals series sucked.

the matchup wasnt in perk's favor. you cant expect him to be able to guard bosh on the perimeter while also being in charge of protecting the paint. his value was displayed when he went up against the lakers and spurs.

but brooks should have seen this was a bad matchup for perk. perk should have played less minutes, they should have moved ibaka to the 5, and kept sefalosha in for defense.

"there is no reason to speak like that especially when typing."  Read that to yourself and then decide if you really think you ought to be the arbiter of dumbness.

And, if you read it carefully . . . and sloooowly a few times and still don't get what I'm talking about, then you should definitely reconsider your self appointed position as CelticsBlog's Intelligence Master.

Perkins isn't the only one who was frustrated by Brooks' rotations during the Finals. I, too, wondered why he kept insisting on playing Perkins.
