why aren't we buying a pick here to take PJ3?

It just cost the Sixers a future #1 to buy a pick.  Danny probably doesn't want to pay that price. as we're on the cusp of rebuilding.

I miss the days of buying late first rounders for cash...

Stiemsma can do everything that Melo can do. I just knew delusional would do something to mess this up. Jones and Moultrie are sitting there (even Taylor) and he goes with the tall stiff.
Steimsma's limitations showed in the playoffs.  He's slow with his rotations on D and one thing you can't improve is quickness.

nor IQ either....which is one reason why melo is going to have trouble getting any playing time with doc's defensive schemes. melo is not a particularly bright human being it seems. doc's rotations are pretty sophisticated and take some time to learn.

that is not a good combo. melo played only zone at SU. let's see whether or not he has the brains to do more than be tall. i dont recall him playing against pick and rolls in college. he will have to in the nba.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Does ESPN just not know these things, or are they just being cool? Woj probably has the Celtics 51st pick locked down already.

where does J. Johnson fit into this equation. Hope a full camp and summer league help him. Johnson, Sully and Melo...much upgraded frontline

I don't like Melo but he is an upgrade over Jermaine O'neal...he gives boston a big to defend howard, noah, bynum, etc

Good for OKC getting Jones...the C's will regret passing on him for Melo.

OKC just keeps killing it in the draft...

PJ3 will be a nice bench player for them...

At 22 you're not getting a franchise center.  Any big you grab that low is going to have issues.  The one thing that does scare me is the fact that this guy was academically ineligible at Syracuse.  That takes some doing.
