Chad Ford says he has back issues:

This may help him slide to us at 21. I would love to grab him if he drops.

Perfect. The likelihood of him in green just went up.

A number of NBA team doctors have reviewed the information from the NBA and have told their front office staff that Sullinger's back issues could shorten his NBA career and some have advised their teams not to draft him in the first round.

I wouldn't worry that much about it, to be fair these are the same docs that said to teams don't draft DeJuan Blair because he didn't have ACL's. That obviously was very sound advice  ::)

If you think you could have an impact player on your hands for the next decade then take him and worry about him only having a 10 year career of success instead of a 15 year career of being "Meh"

He could drop. I would take him. I had the same issue and actually ruptured a disk in my back doing squats. However if he stretches and does what he needs to so that his flexibility in that area is as good as it can be then I think he could be fine.

I would still take him at 21 or 22.

Back problems is not the same as not having ACL's. It's only a matter of time before Blair goes down.. But it's worth of gamble when you are picking in the second round.

I would be shocked if Sullinger falls out of lottery.

What if it's not them, but the docs that said to avoid Brandon Roy because of knee issues?

  • We may as well put Tyrion in at center.

I would not touch him with a ten foot pole.   No explosion and plays below the rim.   I think he is vastly over rated.

Just think of the bad luck we've had with HEATHLY PLAYERS.. this guy would likely get run over by a subway train or a boat sinking or worse.

If he slips. Take him. Want to know who he measured out almost exactly like? (With slightly better speed and strength) Al Jefferson. Lots of folks would take Big Al again. Sullinger does not have to be a a freak athlete because he is a load down low and plays with a crazy motor. No other PF at 21 or 22 would be a better pick. Even with whatever back issue he has.

He is unathletic and has a history of weight problems. Stay far, far away.

My problem with Jared Sullinger is not his back, but that he has no move whatsoever.

His game is back you up, shoot over you.  Rinse-repeat.

But if he is available at 21, yeah draft him.
