Looks like he announced his return.  Who know if he can actually make a comeback but he'd be worth a look for sure.  Maybe fewer minutes make him more effective and more durable?  Imagine Roy as our option off the bench to relive Avery.  Hmm.

Must've missed it:

Been there, done that. ;)

I don't see Roy fitting in well with Rondo. It was hard enough getting him to fit in with Miller.

It would also be depressing dealing with another JO (except with even worse knees).

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Concerns of fit next to Rondo are legit, but I'd happily take that risk for Roy. I doubt there will be a hungrier guy in the league next season, and he's a binky, likely affordable.

OH GOD NOOOOOOOOOOOO!

But Roy doesn't suck...JO in his 30's does...

But the darn knees. Oh god the horror of the darn knees...

I'm interested enough to want to bring him in for a workout, definitely.  No harm in kicking the tires.  Just don't kick too hard... he's fragile!

I like Brandon Roy.  It was a shame to see him go down like he did, and I hope he's successful in his effort to get back into the league.

No more injury prone guys we've had enough headaches in that regard. I'd stay far away.

so true but the thought of a healthy roy on this team is sooooo intriguing.

Peeps here seem to love gimped up injured guys and old guys.   I would pass on him.  He was playing bone on bone no?   Those guys do not get healthy again.

I'd throw 2 years and $5m at him.  The guy could be an uber 6th man a la Ginobli, and also someone who can score one on one in crunch time.

If it doesn't work out, so what.  Think of all the shlubs sitting at the end of NBA benches making a couple of million a year.

From what I hear he was getting a new type of treatment. It was a platelet-rich plasma therapy. He had it done once and was going to go an other round. Kobe has some thing similar to that.

If he thinks he can go, I say give him a shot. The retirement was a surprise, since he had played the season out. If he can get to the point were it doesn't hurt to play interest will rise. Some teams may offer a lot for him though, but will it be teams that he would want to play for?

Sign for cheap. Inject marshmallows and WD40 into knees before every game. 6th man of the year . . .
Stay classy, San Diego. Hello, Baxter? Baxter, is that you? Bark twice if you're in Milwaukee. Is this Wilt Chamberlain? Have the decency to say something.

Depends on which direction they're going.  Roy, if moderately healthy...Is a huge piece to have...If they're resigning Garnett...etc.

If they reload with the goal of getting more athletic, Roy doesn't fit.

If he agrees to sign for the vet minimum salary and if he can contribute at least 20 minutes per game, I don't see why this would be a problem.
