as well as a ton of guys going at around 20, and also late 1st rounders...

it seems obvious danny's just preparing for anything and everything to happen if there's an opportunity on draft night... this is what he does. i remember last season he worked out a 300 pound canadian footballer... he leaves no stone unturned.

i don't think there's a set plan for next season atm... what do you guys think????

i've already posted the barnes and drummond thing in the past but about MKG, if it has already been posted i apologize, but otherwise:

Danny is just covering his bases.  And no... I don't think anyone has any freakin idea what is going to happen with this team yet... including Ainge.  There are so many variables and so many options... It's almost impossible to predict what our lineup will be next season.  If I were creating odds, I'd say the most likely scenario is that he just re-signs everyone using Bird rights and picks a couple guys at #21 and #22... but you really never know.  Anything can happen.  I could find out on draft night that we traded Rondo for Tyreke Evans and the 5th pick... and I wouldn't be shocked.

I can see Ainge targeting the Charlotte's pick. But what it would cost? I'd be happy if he can get it in the expense of our 2 first, JJJ and Moore.

I'm sure a lot of people would.

Throw in Rondo, take back Thomas and maybe, maaaaybe they'll stay on the phone long enough to laugh in Dannys face. Or ear. Whatever.

I think it's the Kings pick at #5 that's a possibility.

I don't think it's any one particular pick Danny's interested in. Just whatever team drafts the guy he wants, he'll probably be on the phone trying to get the guys rights.

I think Danny basically has two scenarios right now, and it all boils down to KG.

If Danny has KG return, I think he stays at 21 and 22 and gets two picks that are going to be pretty good players in this league and can help on the upcoming roster to fill it out.

If KG retires, I see him packaging Pierce, our 2 first rounders, and Moore or JJJ to some team with a good pick and a good young player. The Kings and their #5 pick and Evans come to mind.

I recall reading that Danny thinks interviewing the top guys is a good way to make an impression on them, so that when they enter free agency they have good views of the C's.

It's smart to do that this year especially, when we just took Miami to the brink and everyone is raving about the organization, and Doc.

I don't know man. This Exec. MJ were talking here. 2 first rounders might make MJ drool a bit knowing his history in the drafts.

No chance in hell we get both Evans and the #5 for Pierce, our 2 picks, and JJJ/Moore. Getting the #5 plus a bad contract for that package I can see though.
