he spreads the floor like no other, even if his shot is off. But the main thing is we cant let him to go to you know where.

The more you look at it, the more it seems like he may be our only option at guard (assuming he even wants to come back).  I'm not sure people realize how valuable a player ray is.  In fact, I'm sure there are lot of posters that have no clue how valuable ray has been.

The bottom line is we have very little depth at guard.  And the only options we may have now are the draft picks and minimum type guys, neither of which are very enticing.  S unless we can get ray back, we'll likely be worse next year.

Actually we don't.  With Avery Bradley in the starting lineup we went 20-8.  He shot 50% from the floor, 46% from 3.

We just need a 2-guard that can score off the bench.  It doesn't have to be Ray.

How can people forget that Ray was the best player on the court for most of the 1st half of the season?

The dude can still play, and at a high level. And considering his injuries during the playoffs I was fine with what he gave us.

If the doctors can remove the bone spurs and don't think it's going to linger, bring him back!

Good luck getting that two guard with a minimum contract or a 20 something pick.  But you're right, it doesn't have to be ray.  But he is the best option.

Ray Allen must to return to Boston, if he does not return, this would be a big mistake. I do not see Bradley starter 82 games.

This thread made me think of this... ???I now have a total guess  ;D....and I don't like what I'm thinking causee I like most all our guys , but I can see Danny doing this.

Trading Allen or Bradley and or JJJ plus the two first round picks to move up to a top 5-10 draft pick.

I believe Danny could trade some combo of the above to get at lottery type pick for the Celtics.

IF KG declines to return.... he will do at least the above and  ALOT more.

But, I still see Green and Wilcox comming back no matter what, think he can resign them fair for good value.

Ray being hurt and his lack of D in game seven is one reason we are not in the finals.   I don't think we need him back, I for one think we should have traded him at the trade deadline and if we did it would be us in the finals.

Meh. At this point in his career I am fine with a sign and trade for Ray. I think we would get more value out of it.

Just so he doesn't go to the HEAT . I can live with him leaving.  That would suck so bad  :-X

I'm hoping PP & Doc can talk KG into another run.

Given the Celts shortage of big men, I think it is imperative to get Kevin Garnett back.

KG is a very loyal guy, and he is holding back on signing.  I believe he will sign if Ray signs, and the big three + Rondo have one more chance to get a ring together.  Ray didn't like coming off the bench, but he did it.  Post surgery Rays shooting touch should come back.

I say bring them both back.  Depending on how this year goes Paul may have to join him on the bench.  Ray has indicated that he wants to come back.    Our rebuilding seems to be going well, to find players complimentary to Rondo (AB, JG, possibly BB, MP, JJJ).

If Danny can find a good, reliable center, IMO we can still compete at the top.

One thing is for sure, this offseason should be interesting...
Yesterday is history.
Tomorrow is a mystery.
Today is a gift...
That is why it is called the present.

I'd be fine with it too, but I don't think KG would.

Ray was great for us even while injured, and there aren't more reliable three point shooters in this league when he's healthy.

If the Celtics didn't have him, he would be exactly the guy they'd be going after, so they better get him back. Any team that has a healthy Ray Allen would be stupid not to keep him. The most you should do is have him come off the bench, but you sure as hell don't let the guy walk away to another team.

In Ray’s last postgame press conference, when he cited the players the team missed due to injury (or other medical issue), he named Jeff Green, Chris Wilcox, and J O.; he didn’t include Avery Bradley. That was disrespectful of Bradley and how much he helped the team.
