Anyone think we make a move to trade up for Austin Rivers?  most mocks are having him fall somewhere between 17 & 18, not far away from us, may only cost us a 2nd to move up.

With Ray probably leaving Austin could be a wonderful fit for a rotation with Bradley and Rondo.  Sure we need bigs, but if we bring back Bass and Garnett and johnson takes a Bradley style leap forward it could be possible.  I doubt Moore keeps them from taking a scorer like Austin.  Pair him with someone like Royce white and the return of Jeff Green and our bench looks pretty deep.

I have said previously that I think if Austin falls below 14 Danny will try to move up to nab him.

Austin was one of the most highly regarded players coming out of high school, went to a high profile college, had his moments but his team did not perform well.  Now his draft stock is slipping a bit.  Sound like someone we know?

We talk a lot about how we need size and rebounding, but we also need bench offense.  We need a bridge from Ray/Pierce to the next generation of Celtics scorers.  Bradley is a start, but we need a lot more.  Austin Rivers could be that guy.

I think Austin will be the steal of the draft if he goes any lower than 15.

I may be mistaken but doesn't Austin already have a promise from a lottery team (think it was Phoenix or the Hornets?) It wouldn't be worth trading into the lottery for him in my opinion

I think you are right. I have seen several mocks with the Suns picking Rivers at #13. I don't believe he will be available for the Celtics.

He will be gone before 20.

If Danny really wants him, then I think he'll take one of Houston's picks or Phoenix's.
