Since RH took my wrestler, (nice pick, Roy), I'm forced to switch gears a bit for now:

The creativity and street cred of Tupac, the heart an hard work of the White Mamba, the honor and pride of Thomas Jefferson, the winning drive and intensity of Michael Phelps, and the luck of the Irish, this pick exemplifies all the best qualities of our team, and personifies the core of what makes us the indomitable and superior cohesive unit that we have put together this season. With it's sixth pick in the 2012 CB Ultimate Draft, the newly-named Portland Paradigm, (Team Bahku), selects it's unquestionable choice for Wild Card pick, the one and only ...

Great pick, but I don't think we're allowed to pick teams.  (The Dream Team and the 1980 USA Hockey team were disallowed.)  I think we're only allowed to pick in pairs or fewer.  Maybe it's different for wild card (rather than gold medal) selections, though.

As I need to change my pick, (and want to put some more time/thought into a Wild Card replacement), I'm going to go with this: I'm going to pass over a couple of my personal favorites, (and a person who may have been even more influential to fine arts as a whole in the long run), and go with the only human in the history of mankind with a comparable intelligence to the already picked Leonardo Da Vinci, and an arguably superior grasp of painting, sculpture and architecture, (though hard to believe, they were alive at the same time in history and in fact knew one another, along with Raphael) ...  for it's replacement sixth pick in the 2012 CB Ultimate Draft, the newly-named Portland Paradigm, (Team Bahku), selects the ultimate creative genius for it's selection in the Artist category ...

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Again I'm going to fawn over the Tommy Heinsohn pick as an artist. I've been thinking hard on the artist pick, trying to find a guy who is tough, and funny, and a team player, and creative.

Man I wish I knew Heinsohn painted! Would've picked him right after Bill Murray!

I wasnt crazy about tommy's wife as a pick, just not my style although I can understand why DL made it. I prefer the ultimate draft to be more light hearted, and picking Tommy's wife seems a bit against that to me personally. He's a private man, and that we even know who she is, and how deeply he mourned her, speaks volumes about the depth of his love and his loss. Leads me to more sentimental feelings, more serious thoughts. Not that I disapprove or anything, just not what I'd want.

I like teams that make me laugh and seem to 'fit'. Symmetry and humor lead my world.

  • Yup
Gents.  Sorry I haven't been around much to keep the lists up to date etc...Busier on my days off than my days on.

I don't want to make a big deal out of the Celtics team pick...but in the name of continuity we should keep it to an individual (duos were allowed because the first one snuck by as a joke).

I had always considered a "team" a sum of individuals so that's how I pick my guys.  Hadn't envisioned whole teams (or songs, or cars etc...) but I guess we're bound to run up against different interpretations in something as abstract as this.

I've got to hit the hay.  I'll try to catch up tomorrow.
