I'm of the belief that Bahku's points are valid and therefore have voted his team smartest. I have seen bears on their streets and they are very smart there but no match for the big yellow dude.

  • Yup
I think if I had to objectively  pick the smarter team between the two of of us I'd go with Bahku's.  I think I probably got votes from the Celtics based voting population here because of the Red and Russ factor.  Ultimately (this is the Ultimate Draft after all) I think the main thing is to do like Bahku did and pick a team that reflects yourself at some level.

Nowwwwwwwww...

On to THE TOUGHEST
Yup

I will punch anyone in the face who doesn't vote for my team. That's how tough we are.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Sorry guys.

I've got the greatest athlete of the 20th century in Jim Thorpe

I've got the most unstoppable human being in the draft in Andre the Giant

I've got another tough 7 footer in Bill Walton

A hardened lawman with an itchy trigger finger in Raylan Givens (He kills someone literally every episode. he kills more people than Dexter)

My artist Jack Kirby was a freaking WWII advance scout

Stephen Colbert knows karate

Bill Murray has defeated Gods and the ENTIRE COUNTRY OF RUSSIA, and oh yeah..

I've got a gigantic flying dog-dragon and a real-life 2-ton Buffalo that has no qualms about trampling some fools.

Toughest.

Put in my vote fore redz
Just wondering why? I mean, intelligence is a pretty non-subjective thing. This is how it comes out for me:

Artist: Leonardo DaVinci  =  Michelangelo  (Wash - Both IQs in 180s)

Olympic Gold Medalist: Bill Russell  >  Michael Phelps  (Redz)

Losing Presidential Candidate: Jesse Jackson  <  Thomas Jefferson  (Bahku - close)

Mythical Being: Golem  <  Leprechaun  (Bahku - good margin)

Redhead: Red Auerbach  >  Brian Scalabrine  (Redz)

Mascot: Bruins Bear  <  Mortimer McPestle, Eutectic  (Bahku - good margin)

Rapper: Q-Tip  <  Tupac  (Bahku - close)

Wrestler: Dude Love  =  Bruno Sammartino  (Wash)

TV Law Enforcement Character: Dexter  >  Vic Mackey  (Redz - good margin)

Wild Card: Santa Claus  <  Abraham Lincoln  (Bahku)

Wash: 2

Redz: 3

Bahku: 5

No answer?!?

Thank goodness it's just for fun, though I'd love an explanation as to why people saw it other than above ... no way on God's green earth that I'll beat Redz in a popularity vote, (I'd probably lose that to a communicable disease). ;)

Congrats to Redz and a TP!

Congrats to Redz and Bahku...  it's clear from the voting that they were both very close in terms of "smartest", and were far and away the class of the draft.

In terms of toughest, I think top to bottom, my team has the most toughness:

William Wallace -- Nor only did he have the bravery and toughness to face off against the English despite overwhelming odds, but the dude chose to have his guts ripped out rather than compromise his principles.  Despite unbearable pain, he stayed true to his countrymen.

Jack Bauer -- This guy has literally come back from the dead to save the country.  He's undergone beatings, torture, betrayal, and yes, death, and he never complains.

Stone Cold Steve Austin -- The guy broke his neck in the ring, suffering partial paralysis, but completed his match.  The larger than life persona has reached mythical proportions, but who needs myths when he's shown actual, real-life toughness?

Prometheus -- Not only did this guy have the balls to defy Zeus (after creating mankind out of clay and giving them the gift of fire), but he also lives chained to a rock, with a dang raven eating his liver every day, only for it to be regenerated.  The only thing tougher than not compromising your values when your innards are ripped out is not whining when a stinking bird eats your insides.

Christy Brown -- The dude had cerebral palsy, and could only move his left foot.  Did that stop him?  Nope -- he just went on to become a professional painter and author.  That's the type of mental toughness that only exists on my team.

Jesse Owens -- Not only was Jesse Owens a second class citizen in his own country, but he was being asked to represent his country against Adolf Hitler.  Under enormous mental pressure, Owens rose to the occasion, winning four gold medals and proving that a "master race" is nonsense.  Owens came up clutch in a way that few no how:  that's toughness.

Teddy Roosevelt -- Come on.  The guy left a cushy government job to form and lead a military regiment.  He led his men in the battle of San Juan Hill, winning the Congressional Medal of Honor.  Current Presidents fight wars from behind bullet-proof desks; Teddy Roosevelt fought them on the battlefield.

Kool Aid Man -- He breaks down brick walls by ramming through them, despite being made of glass.  He's got no regard for his own safety.

Walter Payton -- One of the toughest men ever on the football field, where he regularly took a beating.  Incredibly tough off the field, too, where he courageously battled cancer.

Mark Twain -- He stood up for civil rights and against imperialism when it wasn't a popular thing to do.  He did that despite a great risk to his own career.

So, there you have it.  Physical toughness, intellectual toughness, mental toughness.  Guys who perform their jobs with no regard to their personal interests.  I think that objectively, there's no other team that goes ten deep.

I took the day off yesterday and was taking the poll from my phone. Took a quick look at the rosters, voted, and never thought about it again.
