I was thinking about just taking the composite % votes from the 4 previous categories and going with that, but we'll stick with the traditional plan.

It's crazy how one pick can skew perception of an entire team.

For instance, I love Redz' team...  except for Jesse Jackson.  I really hate the guy.  Same thing with dark_lord and Al Gore. Philosophically, is it fair to vote against a team just because you really dislike one participant?

here's my case:

Artist (the painter/sculptor type) - MC Escher --> most unusual topics.  didn't follow the path of the other artists.
Olympic Gold Medalist - Shawn White  --> best, most innovative snowboarder ever.
Losing U.S. Presidential Candidate - Thomas Dewey --> good enough to be expected to actually win the presidency.
Mythical Creature/Being - Thor  -->  he's a god for crying out loud.  controls lightning.  travels through dimensions.  the original "hammer time".  he's an avenger and can carry his own movie franchise to boot.
Redhead - Eric The Red -->ran roughshod over Europe. 
Mascot - UCSC Banana Slug --> not a run of the mill mascot.  there's only one Banana Slug out there.
Rapper - The Fresh Prince -->came from nowhere to become a media power player in the music, TV and movie worlds.  hell, he even got his kid a starring role in a movie.
Professional Wrestler - Randy "Macho Man" Savage -->most dynamic wrestler in the ring and in interviews and let's face it, wrestling became a lot more interesting when Ms. Elizabeth showed up.
TV Based Law Enforcement Character - Chuck Norris --> world karate champ, movie star and TV star.  Also the inspiration  for  "Chuck Norris is so tough.. " legends
Wild Card - The Omniverse --> well, this IS the OVERALL.  period.

Yeh I hats Jesse too.  I was intrigued by the idea of he and Red breaking bread together though.

that would never happen.  Jesse's Rainbow Coalition include Purple and Gold and Red doesn't do Laker colors

Haha.  Makes me want to take back the votes I cast for each of you.

I figured two wins was enough.  Sweeping 50% of the categories pretty much makes you a lock for best overall, but you suckers needed a chance.
