Doc admits erroneously slotting AB as a 1, Moore seems to have combo guard potential can he backup Rondo at the 1 and Ray (or some yet unnamed rookie or free agent) be the backup 2?  I know he can defend and shoot, can he run the team for short bursts (Rondo needs 15 minutes of rest a game at most and often its much less)?

I see Moore as a 2 that is comfortable with the ball in his hands. He's 6'4" in shoes with a 6'9" wingspan. He has the size and shooting ability thrive as a 2. I noticed Moore's ball handling improved every time he saw the court. He's a smart kid and he knows he can play a lot of minutes if he handle the ball and play defense.

I think Moore is a good compliment to Avery Bradley. Bradley is probably a good enough PG to play it 15 minutes/game but he is better as a 2. Moore handling the ball when Rondo sits allows Bradley to play his natural position offensively. Moore guards the 2's while Bradley checks the 1's. Moore doesn't have the lateral quickness to guard elite PG's.

I want Moore as our committed backup 1.  You don't need to excel at any particular PG skill to be a backup.  We just need someone who can handle the ball effectively, get the team into its offensive sets, limit turnovers, and knock down open jump shots.

Rondo is still going to be up there in terms of the top NBA players in minutes per game.  We don't need much.  I think Moore gives us a nice change up from Rondo as a bigger player who can shoot 40+% from 3 if given consistent minutes.  From what I have seen he is a more than adequate ball handler.

Defense of course is the biggest issue.  We know he won't be like Dooling, and it seems that Doc favored the latter's defense over the former's upside.  If Dooling comes back I guess Moore will have to slide into the backup 2, but I think he has more (no pun intended) defensive challenges there.

We'll see I guess. He is not even extended yet.

I don't place much value on Moore.  His problem is that he may be neither a 1 or a 2.  He's nothing more than an end of the bench guy really.

I don't agree with that tbh I think he showed a lot of potential with his limited minutes

Right now, I see Moore as a combo guard who is neither a 1 nor a 2, but who might be a guy who can come in and hit threes.  If he sticks around, he could lean the system and be a Scal-like player who can be expected to know what he is supposed to do, so he may not be a player you want to see getting heavy rotation minutes unless he is nailing more than 40% of his threes.  I think Moore is more likely to end up as a taller Eddie House than the black Jeremy Lin which some optimists seem to regard him as.

For comparison, I've always seen Avery Bradley as an obvious 2, even when he was a rookie.

Pretty much.
Count me among those who don't think Moore is a legitimate prospect.

why not? he didnt look bad out there, 4 years in college and overseas experience during the lockout prior to his first nba game. I mean 90% of this board was saying the same of Bradley just months ago

Yes, some people did say that about Avery a year ago - shame on them. He ws 19 years old when he was drafted, and recovering from ankle surgery.  But totally different than E'Twaun. Everything you said pretty muc backs up my point - 4 year college player and lockout overseas experience. And he wasn't exactly a highly touted prospect coming out of college. I just don't see him improving much more. He at (or very close to) his ceiling potential-wise.

Maybe so, I just want to wait until he receives legitimate minutes (hopefully) before I make a real judgement. I mean in the 27 pt comeback game against Orlando he basically led the charge. I think hes looked good with the minutes he was given

This

I do not want anything to do with Moore playing the point...at all. Doesn't have the skill set for the position, not to say he can't learn but its putting a square peg in a round hole.

Well... I am here to say Moore is going to be very good next season off the bench, mark my words... whether it is here or for another team! The dude can score the ball in a lot of ways, he never looked scared anytime he was out there, the kid is gonna be a steal watch and see!
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)
