How the heck does Barnes have such a short standing reach while measuring out at 6'7 in barefeet with a 6'11.25 wingspan. Going through the draftexpress measurement database, guys with similar height and wingspan have standing reaches in the 8'8 to 9 feet range. Barnes does have a long neck and oblong head but it's not so freakish that his standing reach should be 2.5 to 5 inches shorter than similarly proportioned peers.
If Barnes tanked his standing reach, although I can't see how he managed to get away with so much, that really helps his vertical measurements. For instance, Josh Smith measured out very smilarly to Harrison: 6'7, 7 wingspan, but his standing reach was 9 feet. With that big standing reach, the 11'7 he reached in a standing jump put his standing vertical at 32.5 inches. Barnes also touched 11'7 but that put his standing reach at a very impressive 38 inches. It doesn't pass the smell test.
TP, I completely agree. I got the feeling something was off about Barnes' numbers. I just didn't take the time to look at the numbers.
Quincy Miller with a 36" vert is pretty good for a guy who's knee health has been questioned.
Same max vert reach as Ezeli and Melo as well.
At 220 pounds already at age 19, I'd say he's got great potential as an offensive minded stretch 4, with versatility at the 3.
He's got some Pierce to his game, and his handle would be a mismatch for most PFs defending him in the high post or perimeter.
Miller's agility time, at 11.05, was also pretty good for a guy coming off ACL surgery. I like DraftExpress's best case scenario for him: a poor man's Kevin Durant.
I also got excited about him when I saw the vertical and agility numbers then I noticed he had the sixth worst sprint time

. Still considering Will Barton was in the top 3(slower than O'quinn,
yeah right) i'm willing to let that go. The numbers suggest that Miller is atleast an above average athlete for the most part and with his size, skill, and range that's extremely difficult to pass on.
