Drummond impressed me more than anyone that size and height with that vertical jump.   He will be a top five pick but man does he sound like a beast.

He does. Rondo could make him look real good, too.

My concern is that he weighed in at over 270 lbs right? Id be concerned that weight could put him at risk to become Oden. Even Howard playing around that weight has probably helped to mess up his back. So that thought is a little frightening.

Austin Rivers sure that Lotto Promise will last anymore?

Jeez that is pathetic. 1 rep?

Just to keep some perspective, Durant? 0 reps.

Durant couldn't do one either.
He was much slower than Rivers too in all testing.

Impressed by Machado's 17 bench presses. I like him as possible undrafted training camp invite or who knows maybe even with our 51, if no bigs are available of course. Another real pass first point guard who is capable of giving Rondo some rest.

What the weight on the bench press? 135lbs?

You're wondering if you can beat it, right? =)

haha can't lie, I wanted to see how I matched up with the prospects. Safe to say I got Austin beat!

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
How the heck does Barnes have such a short standing reach while measuring out at 6'7 in barefeet with a 6'11.25 wingspan.  Going through the draftexpress measurement database, guys with similar height and wingspan have standing reaches in the 8'8 to 9 feet range.  Barnes does have a long neck and oblong head but it's not so freakish that his standing reach should be 2.5 to 5 inches shorter than similarly proportioned peers.

If Barnes tanked his standing reach, although I can't see how he managed to get away with so much, that really helps his vertical measurements.  For instance, Josh Smith measured out very smilarly to Harrison: 6'7, 7 wingspan, but his standing reach was 9 feet.  With that big standing reach, the 11'7 he reached in a standing jump put his standing vertical at 32.5 inches.  Barnes also touched 11'7 but that put his standing reach at a very impressive 38 inches.  It doesn't pass the smell test.

TP, I completely agree. I got the feeling something was off about Barnes' numbers. I just didn't take the time to look at the numbers.

Quincy Miller with a 36" vert is pretty good for a guy who's knee health has been questioned.

Same max vert reach as Ezeli and Melo as well.

At 220 pounds already at age 19, I'd say he's got great potential as an offensive minded stretch 4, with versatility at the 3.

He's got some Pierce to his game, and his handle would be a mismatch for most PFs defending him in the high post or perimeter.

Miller's agility time, at 11.05, was also pretty good for a guy coming off ACL surgery.  I like DraftExpress's best case scenario for him: a poor man's Kevin Durant.

I also got excited about him when I saw the vertical and agility numbers then I noticed he had the sixth worst sprint time  :P. Still considering Will Barton was in the top 3(slower than O'quinn, yeah right) i'm willing to let that go. The numbers suggest that Miller is atleast an above average athlete for the most part and with his size, skill, and range that's extremely difficult to pass on.

isn't the weight for bench pressing usually 225 or more? cuz I doubt Austin can only do one rep for 135, o well I want to see other prospects as well

Do not get all worked up about combine results. There are plenty of guys who light up these workouts and can not play basketball a lick. Meanwhile there are guys with mediocre athletic ability who end up going to the hall of fame. We have one playing for us right now: Paul Pierce. We also drafted a crazy athlete: Gerald Green.

225 is the NFL.

185 is the NBA.

I think... (pretty sure)

Compared to Jeffrey Taylor, Barnes' reach looks really iffy.  How does Barnes have the same standing reach as Taylor even though he's an inch taller and 5 inches longer in wingspan?  It makes no sense.  There is no way if you had them reach up side by side that they'd be equal.

haha same I have 185 for 10-12... have Austin and Durant beat :) though both could kick my ___ in a game of 1 on 1 lol.

On a side note, after looking at some of the stats and the deepness of this draft I think theres a lot of quality guys that are going to go undrafted that in other years would be picks. Its definitely going to be interesting. Oh and I can safety say that I have no idea who I want with the picks at this point. So many choices

Same I can get 185 for 10-12 reps (165 lb bodyweight) so I have both Austin and Durant beat by a lot though both would cream me in a game of 1 on 1 lol.

Anyway, with these stats its safe to say I have no idea who I want with the picks. So many great choices I think we'll be debating this until draft night

In case anyone was wondering, Festus Ezeli had the highest no step vertical reach, at 11' 10".  We need someone like that.

Just wondering why a person that tall and can jump over buildings only averaged 6 rebounds per game his last year in VAN.

My concern is he apparently compared himself to Kevin Durant in interviews...

I like his potential a lot but I hope he has a good head on his shoulders.

It's most likely because Ezeli is new to basketball. He also only played 22 minutes per game.
