Those are some pretty great stats. I am really hoping that if Bass opts out this is who the Celtics go after. A legit 6'10 , long, athletic , can rebound and offensive rebound (3 per game), space the floor and get out and run with Rondo!

If Bass opts out and we let Ray walk ( or sign him for the vet min) we could give Illyasova 3 yr/30 mil contract and still have enough money to bring back Green and KG.

PG: Rondo     /Bradley
SG: Bradley   / Pick(Ross,Jenkis,Daron Lamb) / Pietrus(vet min
sf: PP        / Green     / Pietrus
PF: Illyasova / Green     / JJJ
 C: KG        / Wilcox    / Draft pick

I've been saying this for a while. THIS is the guy we should target this summer. He would fill many holes for years to come.

meet you in the middle at 8 mil  :)

If BBD can get 6 mil a year, this kid is going to get at least 8 or 9 mil

not sure, but believe that he is a restricted free agent. so no matter the offer from another team, i think his current team can match it. the only way to prevent that, really, is to over pay ilyasova.

but if the celtics overpay for him they will be falling into the trap of teams such as detroit... spending lots of money on so-so talent, a recipe for many many years of mediocrity.

nice dream about illyasova, but i dont see it happening.

Totally on board. Out of all the free agents out there this summer, Ilaysova (by far) makes the most sense for the Celtics.

I might listen but 8 mill is still a little scary..if my power forward is 6'10 he better play some defense for that kind of money and he seems very skinny and not much of a defensive threat.

I'll give you this though, his name has been linked with the celtics this off season a lot and I'm sure Danny will give him a long look.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Weak free agent class+a good number of teams with a need of a starting Pf with his free agency class, and half of them have enough money to afford a big splash, + a guy who had a huge year that might quite possibly be an outlier = someone is going to overpay for illy.

Hope it's not us, and I love the guy. Should've trade one of our firsts for him when we had the chance.

not sure how those numbers will translate here, doc doesn't like to crash the boards and ersan main edge in rebounding was offensive and teams will have more time to prepare for him next year without the short schedule, and they will make certain that they match up with him in transition.

He's a great defender too apparently.

And I learned that he's a stretch 4 from 2k12. But he's more of a defensive player says a Bucks fan on youtube.

Agree. 4 yrs 32 mil or so sounds legit.

And if he is actually the player he was this season, it's a steal. His skill set tops out as an improved Ryan Andersen, with a little less rebounding.

But you've gotta be skeptical with the ups and downs of his nba career, that's a risky bet.

He's on record that he will play for whoever offers him the most. Either in the NBA or anywhere else. I remember reading an article that European teams are interested in his services is and are willing to offer him the dough.

You got to show this kid the money to land him. I don't know if we should. 6 million or to some extent maybe 10 might not be enough.
