  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Celtics need a big who can set picks. Bass and Garnett are good; but Steimsma is horrible and JjJ is probably worse. Say what you will Kristic set great picks.

We had best pick setter in the NBA Kendrick Perkins. Perk literally swallows defender. How did you think KD and Westbrook get wide open shots in PnR?

I don't C's can afford Kristic. They have a full plate Garnett, Green, Bass, and rest for depth.

It's great that Perk can set picks, but Danny isn't going to pay anyone 9 million to set picks and miss free throws.

Krstic will get about 5-7 million and could probably start on a mediocre team with lots of cap room.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

I'd absolutely sign him to a 1 year deal in the 5 million range.  Boston is going to have to fill up the cap room somehow, might as well be on a guy like Krstic.

He would have been a lot better backup than anyone we had on the roster this year.

he showed he can rebound when he joined the team last year.  He's got a pretty decent shot out to 18 feet.  He's tall enough to be a legit center and not a power forward posing as a center.

If the C's can't draft a center or are looking at only having Steimsma and possibly Wilcox as their only Center options, I'd take a long look at bringing Krispy back.

Can the Celtics sign and trade him for another late 1st round draft pick?

I believe we still have his rights and I think you can still sign and trade, so I'd say yeah.  We might even be able to do it before the draft since he never played in the NBA this past year, though that one I'm not quite so sure of (nor how it would actually work, since if you signed him before the season turned over, would you have to pay for the past year).

That works for me.  That's a big piece to how Ainge built this team.  Load up on drafted players that are developing, make the big trade.

Yeah why not?

Also Kristic had a very good year overseas, he finished sixth in the euroleague in ppg and 11th in rpg.  He also made the all-euroleague 1st team.

He's obviously not a starting caliber player in the nba, but i'm sure he's garnering plenty of interest around the leauge.  Why not leverage him into another asset?

I am not interested in bringing Krstic back.

He is too weak a defender and rebounder. The Celtics will continue to fall apart in both areas whenever KG rests if they are relying on Kristc. He needs Garnett alongside him to be serviceable in those areas which means KG switching back to the four and I don't think Krstic adds enough to justify that move.

So I have little to no interest in bringing Nenad back.

Krstic's rebounding rate in Boston was 14.2.  Only Sean Williams, Kevin Garnett, and Chris Wilcox exceeded that rate this year for Boston.  JO and Stiemer were less but in the neighborhood.

Better to keep Hollins

younger, more athletic. If we keep KG and Hollins, I want to see how much they improve and how much they can contribute next season (same goes for JJJ)
