This move would make a lot of sense to me (if Billups is fully recovered ). Both are going to be coming off of surgery, Billups is a year younger . He is a comparable shooter and has hit huge clutch shots just like Ray.

He would also more importantly give us a real backup PG who can give teams a totally different look than Rondo at the PG spot.

He could easily get 20-25 mins a game at both guard spots .

I would think we could get him on a 1 or 2 year 3 mil per deal .

Oh yea I think he is really good friends with KG too, come on home Chauncey!

What do you guys think ?

I'd take him on a one year deal as a quality backup pg

I don't know the proper etiquette for giving out TPs on this site but you're getting one for posting the best alternative to Ray that I've seen yet, and somehow the rest of us (from what I've seen) never thought of Billups. I would like to see this team get a little younger but Billups would be great if we don't get someone like Mayo.

Can't we just bring Gerald Green back?

I can't imagine Billups leaving the Clippers (who can pay him the most). He likes that team and the feeling is mutual.

If he wants to come to Boston, and the C's have figured out a way tpo find another big to play with KG, you bet I'll be interested.

Yeah, everything I heard was that Billups and the Clips are mutually in love.

What's Jason Terry up to? Will he resign in Dallas?

Isn't Billups like best friends with KG? I remember this being a big topic when they played Detroit in the 2008 ECF

I bet KG could talk him into it, plus LAC have Bledsoe as backup PG, he needs mins to develop

I was just talking to a friend about this today.  With a clean bill of health I would absolutely LOVE the move.

Chauncey Billups is such a natural fit with the culture of our team.  He would be an awesome backup PG and could also play some significant minutes with Rondo.

Much more worried by Billups' injury than Ray's.

Plus, Ray is a much better two guard. His superior size lets him play better man-to-man defense + his movement without the ball is much better than Chauncey's.

While we're at it, could we replace KG with Tim Duncan and Pierce with Grant Hill?

No way I really hope we keep Ray, people seem to forget to start the season Ray was our BEST player....

Coulld we get both? Or Get JKidd (guy just behind Ray and Reggie on the 3-pt list) on the cheap to give Rondo 15 minutes a game and keep Ray behind Bradley? Hmmmm..... Seriously doubt Chauncey is on our radar or vise versa he's got a good think in LA.

No thanks.  I'd rather have Ray and Dooling.

Seriously, torn achilles ... Billups is way too large a health risk.

If he came on a minimum contract, I'd be happy to have him but I am not signing him with serious money that could be spent on another player who has a better chance of staying healthy and being productive.

This is a career threatening injury for a player of Chauncey's age.
