The kid can flat out play.  Young, athletic but seems to be offensive-minded.  Is someone going to overpay for him or is this a guy we could scoop up as a borderline starter or 6th man type?

Would love to have Ilyasova. Great player and I think he would help give KG another couple of years. Nice idea!

I expect him to either stay put or be overpayed.

Sometimes you have to overpay to lure a good player. We picked up scrubs like Pietrus, Daniels, Dooling and Pavlovic on the cheap and that didn't really get us anywhere

And that is how you end up like Detroit.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
I'd like Ilyasova or Ryan Anderson.
They are both great players.
Moreso Ilyasova becuase of his interior presence.
He kind of reminds me of a superpower version of Udonis Haslem.
I remember when he had a monster game against the Nets and got 25 points and 25 rebounds in one game lol.
Throw him in the paint with KG and they would be a nightmare for opposing teams. He hits free throws, hits the 15 footer and hits threes. He has fantastic hands and if he can average that many points with a chucker like Jennings as his PG, imagine how many points he'd score under the rim with Rondo feeding him night in and out.
I'm not sure what people think he's worth when they say he'll be overpaid but he's a legit 6 foot 10 and shoots 45% from the three, 50% from the field and averages 13 and 8 over 27 mins a game- that's with Bogut in the paint beside him.
Anderson is a better scorer and can also shoot the three, but he will probably command a lot more money.
I'd be happy with either for 10 million a pop.
There will probably be teams willing to pitch 12-14 million for each of them though like the Nets so we'll have to see.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

You know, except for 12 minutes away from the Finals, but it's cool.

The bench made zero contributions in game 7 with the exception of a couple boards by Hollins.

I want no part of Ryan Anderson. He played pretty much as well as he could ever play and still couldn't help make the Magic a formidable team. If you think he is going to be a near max player, then it makes no sense to go after him.

Ilyasova could slip under the radar a little bit. If there is a possibility that he could be a top 3 player on a contending team, then he maybe a good option. I am thinking like 6-7 million, though...

Agreed.  If we can resign KG to a 'hometown rate" I think it gives us a chance to get a guy of Ersan's ilk. I believe he'd be a fan favorite around here because he is always in pursuit of the ball - rebounding, loose balls, etc.  He is a "Tommy Point' kinda guy.  Plus we need another shooter - especially if Ray is hittin the road - and Ersan is a really good (not quite great_ shooter.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
He's on record that he'll play to whoever will be paying him the most, either in the NBA or in Europe. So we're talking more than 6 million dollars a year here. I really like him, but no thanks.

This is my dream pickup. Kid can catch and shoot, make smart passes, defend 2 positions, rebound on both ends, and can finish at the rim... He also doesn't need the ball to score. That's a perfect fit with Rondo.

Plus he looks like Bizarro James Franco...

I don't think ersan is as good as he was this year, think the short schedule may have helped some shooters, as it gave teams less time to prepare and made them more tired and less willing to close out shooters

However ersan is young and quite productive and if kg accepts around 9 million then we should be able to offer ersan 8-9 mill .

If they did and bass opted in, they would probably have 3 mill left to offer another free agent. I think bass might opt in on the promise of an extention for following years which they should be able to offer.

They could also use up to two 2.5 million dollar exceptions (rooom and bi annual). If they signed a free agent using cap space.

To resign greg, green or allen they would have to use left over cap room or the exceptions, as they would need to renounce bird rights to create the room to sign a free a major free agent (Btw they don't hold greg birds rights anyway).

The other free agents that intrigutes me instead of ersan is g wallace. He would be great as undersized four next to pierce and they could use him to guard elite 3's and give pierce a break. He would also be great running the floor with rondo. I read somewhere that the nets wanted to sign him for 3 years 24 million, can't see why couldn't do similar deal.
