What would be a reasonable offer for him?

8 mil? 9 mil?

Yes.  That seems reasonable to me, with what you pay for height.

He will get offered more though I believe, so I don't consider him an option.

Thats a reasonable offer but i bet a team will pay 12-13 a year for him... Which i think is absurd but there will be a gm out there to do so.

You never know.  With the new salary cap restrictions coming into play, teams may be more frugal.

Look, no one here is calling him the next great big man.  But considering what is out there at the Center position he is certainly worth looking at.  All young players are immature and have growing pains, but at 24, for anyone to say with certainty that this will be who he is going to be 2, 4, 6 years down the line is just as stupid as they purport he is.

Clearly he has had his issues, but I'ld be willing to bet, in the right environment he could excel.  Previous posts of his performance against LA this post season, who probably has the most formidable front court in the league, should not be overlooked!  He has the tools!  He just needs the right direction.  And honestly, who better than Doc and the good mix of young and veteran leadership here.

Its not a question of should the Celts look at him, the question is how much?

DeAndre Jordan got 4 years, $43 million from the Warriors, which was matched by the Clippers.

McGee will probably get a similar offer from someone else with more money than sense.

The Nuggets are certainly a better place for JaVale than Washington. I, for one, was really stoked he had a great series against the Lakers, A)because watching the Lakers suffer is wonderful, and B) because he jumped over Bynum.

The Nuggets were actually a blast to watch this year. Reminded me a little bit of the We Believe Warriors or ( even more distantly) the 05-ish Suns. Fast, high-tempo basketball that is a hell of a lot of fun to watch & cheer for...

Especially when they're beating up on the purple & gold.

I'll pass. Rondo, PP, Doc, and KG if resigned, preach excellence in execution. This guy would take a beating for constantly missing assignments. The vets will have no patience with him as they are in win now mentality. Given the size of the contract he is about to receive, he would be the target of  ridicule and his confidence would be shot. He would be the anti-Perk. All athleticism, sometimes lazy, with a low basketball IQ...all things Perk is not.

Great athlete but empty skullcase.  I 'd pass on him, he has the ability but lacks basketball IQ and maturity.

I find it kinda funny how you guys call him stupid, dumb, retarded.. Those are some really harsh words.. Especially for a Center who averaged 12, 9 and 3 last year.. You can't find 4 other centers who averaged that or even came close to it..

And he's only 24..  Some one earlier said something about Tyson Chandler and i think the comparison is spot on.. It took Chandler a while to develop into the "Defensive Player of the Year" that he is now.. and I see Javale taking a similar path.. I actually think he's got more potential than that even...

Hes got all the tools.. He started off on one of the worst teams in NBA history..  He moved to Denver and has shown HUGE strides in improvement in terms of his "IQ" that you guys are so keen on.. And he dominated Bynum.

....So i have no idea why you guys wouldn't want him on the team.. Because you think he's "dumb"?  You guys thought Gerald Green was dumb.. but I bet more than half of you would want him on the team now after what he's shown in NJ...
