Let the stupid rumors begin...

I don't doubt that Ray would be coveted as a sharpshooter by a lot of teams, NYC and Miami included.

But no way KG hits free agency.  He will either be with the C's or he will retire.  I think he plays one more year with us if DA can put together a good team for next year.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Ray Allen end up in Dallas.

after watching Ray on the podium last night, how can anyone not say that if theres mutual interest the Celtics are at the top of his list?

what, is Ray going to play 15minutes standing in a corner for Miami??

if he goes anywhere else, the Clippers or the Bulls make more sense...because he immediately would start.

not to mention, the Heat have absolutely NO cap-room...the most they can offer allen is $3million

theres teams who can offer alot more...celtics included

The Clippers is a great place for Ray. That would be a situation that would be very beneficial for both player and team.

Well if Mannix is correct that Ray's gone. KG is going to retire, and Pierce will be dangled in a trade, then the Cs are going to be a very bad team for the next few years unless Danny does something stupid and signs a bunch of free agents from a weak class just because he has salary cap money burning a hole in his pocket.

It will take 5-10 years barring a miracle to return to contender status since outside of Rondo, we have no tradeable assets that would get us any value and our young players haven't shown much except for Bradley who still looks more like a quality back-up than a starter after his offensive problems during the playoffs when opposing coaches included him in their game plans.

I have no idea if this is true.. but here's the link: http://www.iamagm.com/news/2012/06/10/ray.allen.has.knicks.and.heat.top.his.free.agency.list

"Reportedly" and yet 1. no one reported it (even on Twitter!) and 2. there's no source whatsoever connected to the suggestion.

The C's will never be a very bad team as long as Rondo is on the roster.

I don't think Ainge will do that.  I think we'll either bring everyone back, or go into rebuilding mode.

Neither would I.
OKC, Clippers, Lakers, Spurs, or Bulls would also be unsurprising destinations.

I doubt New York.  Or Miami.  I doubt at this point in Ray's career that he's going to want to play with divas.

Wyc isnt going to let the C's become a bad team..I have a feeling they trade up into the lottery to get a nice prospect, resign KG and Green to one year deals and use this as a bridge/mentoring of the youth to the next era.

this whole idea tha tthere needs to be a TOTAL blow-up to rebuild is innacurate IMO..

everyone thinks back to the 80s c's...but they were supposed to mentor/pass the torch over to reggie lewis/len Bias who both tragically died basically killing us

They are not paying Rivers that salary to coach a rebuilding team.
