I think KG comes back only if Ainge wants to make another run for a title and he

A) brings him some help at the 4-5 a legit big

B) something gets done like a no trade clause

I have no clue why everyone keeps wanting to sign pietres. He was very ineefective the whole playoffs. He may of knocked down maybe 2 of his 3's but the dude air balled one! He is not worth of a resign we need to look elsewhere.

Because he can be had for cheap, he is a much better shooter than he showed this post season, he is playing through an injury that requires surgery this offseason, he's a good defensive player who can play the 2 or the 3 and guard Lebron in spurts, and do a good job on Wade (when healthy) and most of all he is a Celtic type player and a great locker room personality.

He is not going to be signed as a superstar.  He's a perfect fit as a role player.

For this offseason I expect Ainge to resign KG, Ray, Dooling, Green, Greg, Hollins, Pietrus, Marquis and Wilcox to one year deals, try to bring Bass back on a 2 year deal, draft a center, and pray that they can stay healthy for an entire season.

Rondo / Dooling / Moore
Bradley / Ray / Moore
Pierce / Green / Pietrus / Marquis
Wilcox / Bass / JaJuan
KG / Rookie / Greg /Hollins

The free agent crop is painfully thin right now.  When healthy, that team is a contender.  Just pray we can stay healthy for the post season, and keep the team together for one more season before we blow it up.  That's a cohesive, versatile unit, that represents everything we want in a Celtic team.  It's also 16 players, but I couldn't decide who to cut.

I've had dreams of a Rondo Bradley Green Bass Wilcox lineup.  A lineup that can play okay defense, but would be spectacular in transition.  Would be beautiful to watch Rondo finally have some teammates who could run with him.

I really think salary cap space is worthless this summer.  There's really no one worth pursuing.  And when that's the case, even mediocre guys will get overpaid, which makes things even worse.

I see no reason not to bring back Ray and KG.  Maybe we don't have enough to make one last run; however, we'll keep a winning culture and have great vets to teach the young guys how to play.  You could make a case for more playing time without them, but I'd argue that a season playing with KG and Ray beats whatever the young players on the Bobcats learned this year getting hammered every night.

The real key is to keep everyone at 1-2 year deals to keep cap flexibility open.  That way we have a year or two to develop Bradley, (hopefully) Green, Johnson, and the rookies we get in this year's draft.  They can learn from the the Big Three, and then when 2014 rolls around and Pierce (and likely Ray and KG) are set to expire, Danny is left with a lot of options:

1) He could use their cap space to pursue free agents.

2) He could use their expiring deals to try to make a trade.

3) He could also look to deal the young guys if he deems that they aren't what we should be building around.

To sign people this summer reeks of the Pistons when they signed Villanueva and Gordon just because they had money to burn.

just funny how we say we lost this series due to injury but continue to bring back the injured 0__o. he was uneffective and missing open shots. we have cap room why the heck people keep being worried about saving money? your roster has us bringing back all of our probelm (THE BENCH) IT is time to start over. We do it while we may have 1 more year of KG rondo, PP, and ray   so we wont have a complete re roll, but now is the time. We wait any longer and we will end up being the dang kings or bobcats.

I agree with you, I like Pietrus and Wilcox, but they are just too prone to injury
