I'd love Ray to come back. Looks unlikely though.

Ray Allen is oblivious for saying that he has alot left , when its obvious he doesn't.

If he had alot left, he would have run and gun with wade and lebron tonight.

A great player knows when to call it as it is, when to quit etc.

Ray Allen is still living in the past.

I don't mind him coming back next year, but as a bench guy. If he thinks he has alot left in his legs, wants to be a starter and wants starter money, then i tell him no thanks.

I think the Big 3 need to finish their careers here. And have change to win another championship. They're the kind of experienced veterans every contender wants. Doc needs to find that perfect balance of youthful energy and veteran savvy the Spurs have so we can get a great regular season record. All these road games take a toll.
The compressed lockout schedule took its toll as well.

Great.

Bring em all back and we'll lose to Miami again next year in the 2nd round.
on 1 year deals? Our young guys and draft picks get playoff experience , and we still have a bunch of cap room in 2013 when D12,Josh Smith , Ibaka,Hibbert, Eric Gordon, Millsap, Big Al become free agents.

The plan was to have a bunch of cap room for 2012 when there were so many good free agents available...look what happened there.

bring ray back for the bench. no harm in him playing 20 - 25 minutes a night.

Bring Ray back as a 6th man if he's willing to. Another year would hurt. Start Bradley and make him the back up PG as well. Ray comes in and draft a wing that could learn the game from Ray Allen. I want him not only as a 6th man, but as a mentor for the future players of this team.

PG: Jrue Holiday / Isaiah Thomas / Larry Hughes
SG: Paul George / Aaron McKie / Bradley Beal
SF: Paul Pierce / Tayshaun Prince / Brian Scalabrine
PF: LaMarcus Aldridge / Shareef Abdur-Raheem / Ben Simmons
C: Jermaine O'neal / Ben Wallace

We need to go after a fringe All Star calibre big man to put in the paint with KG- a fearless rebounder who isn't afraid to get dirty but can also hit free throws.

Only way I want Ray back is for very small money because I'd honestly rather have Jeff Green off the bench than Ray.

We need 4 things next season:

*A go to bench scorer (Jeff Green and/or Ray)
*A back up point that can shoot the three
*A legitimate starting big man to patrol the pain and rebound.
*A defensive big that rebounds HARD off the bench- someone like Haslem would be perfect.

Starting 5 that would be great for me:

Rondo
Green/Bradley
Pierce
KG
Peckovic/Millsap/jefferson/David West (All unrestricted free agents)

Bench

Ray
Moore
Wilcox
Odom
JJJ

None of those bigs are free agents, and it would be virtually impossible to put that team together even if they were.

Hoopsworld says they are all unrestricted.
If KG takes something small (very likely) I think you could nab Odom for 3-4 million after his mental escapades this season.
Peck and Millsap around 10 mill each.
Still leaves us with enough for Jeff Green doesn't it? Ray doesn't need to be in there, would be nice though.

I'm not so sure. He was our only offensive weapon in the beginning of the season and hit 3's with a higher percentage than ever. I don't know whether the bone spurs and other issues will go away (after surgery), but he could be a very valuable player. I agree, however, that he should come off the bench for Bradley. We played our best basketball with that lineup.

If Ray is willing to comeback, with a reduced role, and a very reduced salary, I'm ok with it as a fan. The only problem is Doc being to loyal to his boys. Playing them, no matter what. If Ray is not on the team, Doc plays the correct line-up in the correct situations.

I think doc did that when avery was healthy. He did the offense for defense sub a lot. So I don't think doc would get it wrong. But i agree. It would have to be less money and that 6th 7th man role. Hope he does though.

Sounds painful ... maybe that's really what the surgery's for, to remove all that basketball from his legs. Hopefully it's a rapid rehab period.

None of those players are even free agents this coming season.

and if we needed a threat off the bench J.R SMITH!! he will bring points + excitement. Do not get odom he don't wanna play no point in wasting time.

We get J.R smith or shannon brwon and we are good, We make another ECF run atleast and we can make a run for Dwight next year. We build through the Draft and pray we strike gold just to save money for next year.

Yes, bring them back. Just add enough young guys underneath them who can handle carrying a bigger load all season.

You add Jeff Green, Wilcox and Bradley to this team and I say we're into the finals this year, Bosh or no Bosh.

Bradley's D on Wade would have allowed us to load up more on LeBron.

I agree with you that with Bradley, Green and Wilcox the outcome could have definitely been different, but I fear that next year the big 3 could possibly lose another step.  Then we're talking about adding those three guys (Bradley, Wilcox and Green) to a lesser team.  I love this team very much, but unless we can resign KG and Ray for a good deal less and have Ray in a sixth(or seventh) man role, I don't think we'll be as good next year.
Mock Deadline Denver Nuggets
