Maybe because im a new school guy and a video game lover i'm just ready for a change. Everytime i crank up Nba 2k12 i always look at other teams throwback and the C's just don't have any.
Maybe you don't consider this as big a change as I do, but the font on the jersey has changed CONSIDERABLY over the last 40 years. Personally, I'm a much bigger fan of the pre-1969 font (the more Times New Romanish font, if you will) because I think it looks crisper. I absolutely despise the gold lettering on the alternate jerseys they have now.
I know this may seem silly, but I personally think the best jerseys are the ones that have stayed consistent, ones that are instantly recognizable for generations of fans. Look at the teams that are generally identified as having the great decades-long legacies. The Celtics. The Lakers. The Knicks (with the exception of a 3-year stretch in the early 1980s). The Bulls. Even to a certain degree the Trail Blazers. What do they all have in common? Basically no major changes to their uniforms. Sure, they've changed a secondary color or a font, but they're essentially the same. And that's what's awesome about them.
Though, for the record, I'd LOVE to have the Celtics revert to their mid-80s logo style with just the white and green leprechaun. I think it looks much better than the colored-in one we have now.
