120 minutes of play...then decided by the equivalent of a free throw shoot out.  Doesn't make any sense.

they play the good old catenaccio

i have to disagree

catenaccio means that the team stays behind the ball, puts a bus in frond of the posts and tries with long balls to score.

England did that , Greece did that but definately not Italy (to my surprise to be honest). They have played so far attractive football , moving the ball around and trying to attack. And with a couple of decent strikers (and not the two morons) they could be very very dangerous. I hope they can beat Germany today but i wouldn`t put money on this.

Quote
.... Pietrus stressed that he couldn’t speak on how Garnett was feeling about returning to the Celtics this upcoming season, but said that the two are keeping in touch when it comes to international soccer.

“I spoke to him. We have a bet. He’s rooting for Germany. I’m rooting for Spain,” Pietrus said. “We just talk about soccer right now. We don’t talk about his business.” ...

Well, now i gotta love KG even more. He needs to come back, i hope he wins the bet.

Für all die deutschen Fans hier: Schlaaaaaaannnnnddddd !!!

He´s in good company...

In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

Balotelli with the brace!  Two well taken goals. Terrific start for Italy.

This saved my day!

After the horrible, no-good, crappy day I've had; this will carry me thru.

Vai Azzurri!

Balotelli with two beautiful goals, completely surpassing my expectations.  Even makes the foolish yellow card seem insignificant.

Vanquishing the hated Germs makes it so much sweeter!

One more to go to for Calcio Cielo!

I'd love to see Italy beat Spain in the Final.
