Before game 6, I started a thread about how anxious I was.  Today, it's just the opposite.

Maybe because I don't think we have a chance to win?  Maybe I'm aiming low to save me the disappointment?  Maybe because I'm coming to grips that the window is finally closing?  Maybe because I'm just too old to worry for healths sake?

Really have no idea, but  it feeling much of anything this morning.

How are you not pumped?! I'm so ready to start this game!  :o
Take me where the Boston Celtics fans roam free without judgment from my enemies.

Same here actually. My nerves were at an all time high on Thursday. I couldn't get anything accomplished at work. It was really bad.

Now? I'm pretty chill. I don't know...I guess I'm just of the mindset of whatever happens, happens.

I feel the same exact way and I definitely think it is because I do not expect them to win. I expected them to win Thursday night and was all tense about it. Weird. Let's go Celtics.

While I'll be very upset if we lose, I do think there's a certain sense in Celtic Nation that the Celtics have already exceeded expectations.

I'm always an optimist and I was literally saying at the trade deadline to keep the team together, because you never know if we'll get paid back by the basketball gods for past injuries by seeing injuries to other stars (and thank you very much basketball gods for that), and even I feel like we've exceeded expectations.

And that's not even counting the fact that we're still doing this in year 5 of what was supposedly a 3 year plan.

And to top it all off, I feel like with emergence of Avery Bradley and the fact that we've done all of this with Bradley, Green, and our starting and backup center out, makes many of us believe that

1) we could possibly make another run next year

and

2) even if we can't, the future is a lot brighter now.  Prior the past month or two, I think many of us weren't convinced Rondo could be the #1 guy on a contender and that we didn't have any other pieces.  Now, I think many of us feel Rondo can be a #1 guy and that Bradley could be a star in this league.  If that's the case, rebuilding just got a whole lot easier.

I am calm too because I know for a fact the NBA and the refs will not let Boston win tonight. So no matter what they do, they lose tonight. So with zero expectations, yeah, I am calm.

Thanks, NBA.

I agree good point about our health, at the end of day it was nice our Big 3 or 4 remained healthy having seen what happened to Rose and Chauncey etc happy for that and wish those guys a well recovery. I do want too see the whole gang back that I wanted even before the playoffs.

Edit: actually Ray isn't fully healthy but at least it's nothing like ACL/MCL

Great post droopdog7, TP. I feel the same way. I was all worked up over game 6 but today I;m like "whatever"...

I think for me it's that I was so disappointed with the result of game 6, so dumbfounded that the guys could let Lebron just run around without getting into / after him more and to have yet another of what I call the "perfect opportunity / perfect setting" game turn into yet another abysmal outing by our guys - I was like, well, you know, these guys have fought hard enough this year, really proud of them, they just had too many injuries to the team. What a great effort...

To be honest, I don't think we'll win tonight, at all. I'm expecting a Miami blowout again, with a lot of showboating and puffing of the chests from LeBron and Wade....

And albas89, I've got to give you two, count 'em, TWO TP'S, for your chart. I actually said to two of my buddies, who know I am a rabid, die hard, Celtics fan, that I am detached, I don't care. Then I see the bottom part of your chart and I just about fell off my chair laughing  realizing that I was in a complete state of depression after game 7, which lead to my detachment.

In fact, the entire chart pretty much mirrors my journey from before game 6 to now. Right now I'm in the "Dialogue and Bargaining" phase, discussing, amongst myself, all the options for the team moving forward, the bright future based on our cap space, young players and draft picks, all the while appreciating the big three for what they've given us over the last five years - while privately hoping they come back with a rebuilt team to give us one more year of what we got this year!!

The acceptance will come after tonight's game and the "Return to meaningful life will come sometime after the draft and during the summer pro league, particularly if our young guns are looking good. If they all suck, it's possible I could quickly "re-enter" the "Shock and Denial" phase.

I feel somewhat calmer today than I did for game six as well, but I absolutely think the Celtics will win tonight.

Yeah same for me, bit nervous, pumped up aswell. But for game 6 I was even more, Maybe cus i expected us to close out at home.

And maybe because the crowd was absolutely brilliant at the end of game 6 which made me so proud. I am so proud to be a celtic, even if we lose this we got so much more to be proud of then the Miami Heat. But we won't lose, let's go celtics <3

I feel completely different.  oddly enough, I think after that disaster in the last game, they'll come out tonight and take it no matter what the refs or the Heat do.

I'm pretty calm as well, but I think it has more to do with my optimism and confidence in the team giving it their all rather than accepting defeat. Maybe it'll come back to bite me, but a game as big as this will bring the best out of everyone, especially as it may very well be the last run of the era.

It was because prior to Game 6, everyone on the planet thought "Well, now that they have won three in a row, and they're at home, Celtics must win Game 6 or they won't be coming back to get a victory on the road in a Game 7." more or less. Helluva pressure, even for those who are watching.
Now? No scenarios. No "What a chance it is" or no "they have got to close it out now" situations. Just a single game. Win and you advance. Lose and call it the season. Pressure? Still there, but mostly limited to the players this time around.

Look,
the Celtics had a close-out game in Boston on their home court.
They allowed Lebron to get the ball in rhythm. There were no hard fouls.
Each time, they made a run, they made a costly turnover (many of them Rondo's)

Miami knows that if they lose, they will likely be done in this new era.
The NBA has printed out "Let's Beat the Heat, OKC " shirts.
The officials are not going to put Lebron or Dwade into any type of foul trouble.

Jeff Green heart- OUT heart condition
Chris Wilcox-OUT  heart condition
Jermaine O'Neal OUT heart condition er,,,wrist injury
Avery Bradley-OUT separated shoulder

Sorry guys, but this is over.
Miami by double digits.

You all will have to turn it off, because Lebron and Dwade, Bosh will be dancing and taunting like they did last year.

Johnny Most will be smoking a pack of cigarettes and chasing his whisky with a beer.  Red will be anxiety eating his Chinese food.

Great season.  But this one ends like the 87 Celtics.  Heroic. But no rings.

If somehow they manage to win, like the 68-69 Celtics. I'll put my lepracaun hat on and by drinks off of Causeway.
