Well..you actually do need one.....unless you have maybe Tony Allen....no one would hard foul him...i know why.....but you cannot keep letting you guys get hit like that, by those types...."oh they are bad guys" ya, you can say that while you are watching next round be played...like we had to do after ron artest and kobe took out perk, rondo, and ray...well, we didn't watch anything after that....but it still happened unchallenged..the meek will inherit MORE PAIN....! Basketball is not made for the meek....it is a gladiator sport, and there are many ways to deal with these tpyes...but doc doesn't have the fortitude to make it happen....still, close body contact is clean, and keeps lebron types from open lanes, and dunks....!

News flash:  The Celtics are still playing.  Ron Peace is sitting at home.  Our enforcers are Rajon Rondo, Kevin Garnett, and Paul Pierce.  They enforce their will by playing the game of basketball with skill and "grit and balls" to quote KG.

No need for any of that extra crap.  That doesn't mean that I want to see them back down or play soft (neither of which this team will do--not in their makeup).

LET'S GO CELTICS!!!!!

No doubt.  Are you advocating that kind of retaliation?  I don't think it's necessary.

You can question my level, but you can't question whether or not I'm a baller.  I've been playing this game all my life.

You may be a Division one NCAA full scholarship talent against my 5'8'', not that fast, not that athletic, not much ups, and at this point, older and creakier with bad knees game.

But, I'll go out there and I'll ball.  So, please stop the nonsense about who's a baller and who's not.  Bring your test!!

I've been fouled hard and I've even fouled people hard, and I won't lie, sometimes out of pure frustration.  I still believe that playing the game clean is the best way to play it.

You got some nerve calling people out like that from your touch pad.  I'm amped right now, big game coming up.  I've always respected you and your posts, but I don't need this B.S.

I have no hard feelings.  But, don't twist the facts.  You quoted me specifically, and then suggested that we have a test of basketball experience and level of play for posters, and you did it in what I took as a mocking fashion.  Excuse me for taking exception.

If you thought that my disagreeing with your arguments was some kind of calling out, I don't know what to say.  This forum is about disagreement.

Nothing personal.  Tough loss tonight, my fellow Celtics fan.  Tough loss.

My last post on this topic. I "loved" our D on LeBron tonight overall. There were a couple wide open lane moments, but there was a lot more physical defense. I really liked Bass' body to body foul and in general our guys got way more "into" James and everyone overall.

WE lost but that was more due to us going, once again, absolutely ice cold offensively and at the worst possible time.

Loved the toughness on D tonight - made LeBron earn it. I have no complaints.

Agreed.  Unfortunately, there was nothing we could do late as our whole team was in foul trouble.  Maybe we were a little softer in game six, but I just don't know what you can do when James is hitting jumpers like he was in that one.

Overall, I'm proud of the effort from our guys.  They wore us down.  No shame, as far as I'm concerned.

As Doc said, there is a difference between being next to a guy defensively and being into a guy defensively. He said in game six we were just next to LeBron all night, never into him.

I think had we been more into LeBron in game six, we may have gotten a different result.

For me I've watched every game these guys have played the last five years - their defensive intensity, toughness and energy tonight is more along the lines of what I expected to see in game 6...

But agreed, no complaints, they played hard. They didn't lose the series tonight, they lost it in game 6 - it was over then IMHO
