Is he a UFA or a RFA?

Do the Celtics hold any type of rights regarding him?

If they want to keep him, can they?

He's actually signed through next year on a fully non-guaranteed contract that becomes guaranteed if he is not waived prior to August 1 this summer.

Thank you!

It's a long shot but I hope he can fill a role next year.

An athletic shot blocker and rebounder would be lovely.

I bet Rondo can make him look real good!!

I've been very surprised to see him suited up for the games since Avery went down. Jajuan has been with the team the whole season, yet Williams suits up for the playoff games. Not sure if you could read anything into this but.....

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
I think Williams might have learned his lesson from his stint in the d-league.

He took the NBA for granted and he has paid dearly.

I would definitely like to see what he can do next season.

Thats awesome if the C's indeed have him under contract for next year at their option. I'd like to see what he can do for them.

This year he should only be an emergency player. He doesn't know the schemes on offense/defense well enough with so little practice time. On top of that his all around skill is not complete enough to beat out the current rotation.

Johnson's body, skills and mind are nowhere near ready to compete at the Eastern Conference Finals level. His rotations on defense and lack of strength would be a big problem. Hopefully he'll get a little thicker and keep improving over the summer.

Would love to see williams on the roster as a third string center next year. Who knows what could happen, he could blossom as a young athletic shot blocker who can run a good transition game. Not surprised at all to see him suited up over JJJ. JJJ at the moment is a small forward build in a power forwards body. Dudes what, 20? If that? There is no way he is ready to be playing against the Heat in a conference finals... At least williams has some legit nBA experience even if it is minimal. However, I still dont think Williams should see the floor against the Heat. Im not interested in giving him a legit whirl until next season.

He has athletic ability, quickness , he has scoring skills , just needs a teacher and discipline and work ethic..  Those can be learned from others.

JuJuan Johnson is a 23-year-old who played four years of college.  He reportedly added 10-15 pounds before his senior season, so I am not so optimistic that he can add that much more bulk.  I see his best path to becoming a guy who can play for Doc as learning the defense while adding a three-point shot to become a stretch four who could be used in situations where Doc likes to go small.

Williams wouldn't be terrible as the 11th/12th man (Ryan Hollins 2012-2013 version)

Yeah, I am thinking the same.  At the 10th/11th/12th player he is at least an athletic big dude.  His salary isn't very scarey as well.  So if he plays well in training camp, comes out to learn and turn his game around a bit we would be very happy to have him as 10th/11th man.

If he doesn't come out well in training camp, and show a lot of effort and hustle he probably gets cut anyways.

If he was serviceable, he'd play.

Trust Doc.

Sean will be lucky to be in the NBA next season.

Sean Williams is good.  Rondo, Bradley, Green, Williams and Stiemsma.  Hows that for young, athletic and defense?
