I watched game 5 again and noticed something that I didn't pay attention to before.  Just before the start of the 4th quarter Spoelstra was interviewed and said in response to a question about the Celtics, "they got us twisted in the mind".   :o

Good to know the Celtics are in the Heat's head. 8)

I hope it's really loud in the Garden for game 6.  Get them all twisted!

this was the one saving grace that I had going into the series. I knew that if we could break the Miami Heat down mentally we would have a very good chance at getting ahead in this series. Hopefully we can continue to keep this up.

they're not a mentally strong team so I wouldn't just fluff that off as nonsense.  they've got to be wondering what they have to do to put Boston away and that if not for bad officiating late in game 2, they'd be home watching the rest of the playoffs by now.  (if not for bad officiating in game 1, it's not out of reason to see this could have been a C's sweep).

I am just in awe hoe Spoelstra is breaking down and that is great for us. The Celtics are playing with that swagger that we saw in '08 and they are mentally beating down their opponent, and the coach is the pinnacle of this mental beat down.

To only place Bosh for 14 minutes, not ending the game with him. He doesn't have a sense of urgency and the team may take it that way. This mentality of 'we tried hard, that's all you can ask of us', and this lack of urgency from the coach and team's view.

If I was a Heat fan, I would be livid. If the Celtics were in this situation, I wouldn't be satisfied with 'we tried hard' when you give up in the end of the game. I'd be starting a position for having my 3rd best player...

SPo 's job is probally on the line with this game.

The video cooridnator might find himself unemployeed if he loses tonight. He is baby sitter for a bunch of spoiled overpaid whinners.

I think "EVERYBODY" in SOuth Beach wants him out.  Except maybe EVERY D WADE fan .   I think Spobot was brought in for one thing.  To suck up to the ill temptered thug Wade .  Wade needs a REAL coach that will get in his thuggery face. Make him run the plays that are called, practice, quit whinning.  Wade can't play for a REAL coach.  He 'll play for a sissy , that will let him do anything he wants.

Spobot is there to appease the ill tempered Wade.  or else Riley would be coaching himself ( a clash of personality).

No "REAL" coach would put up with the antics of the heat , especially the thugs Wade and Haslem. So RIley puts in a puppet coach .  It won't work , the real coach needs to be on the bench GIVING orders .

Best thing to do is DUMP WADE... so they can get a real coach and go with Bosh and LBJ.

I really wonder if the ONLY reason the rest of the HEAT team support Spobot at all , is they are scard what will happen to WADE should a REAL coach with a work ethic be brought in.

I figure they need Spobot to keep Wade happy ( like a mean 10 year kid)needs a nanny.

Maybe the C's can give Delonte courtside seats right next to the Heat bench tonight.  That ought to help with twisting LeBron's mind a little more!  :o

Yeah, I think the Celtics have been in Miami's heads since they won those two late regular season meetings. Especially the second one when Miami went all out and still couldn't find a way to get the win. They looked so demoralized after that game.

It was like they thought they had finally shut the door on Boston after the beatings they'd taken separately before coming together (Wade, Bron and Bosh) and now suddenly they were right back where they were. The little kid getting smacked around by the bigger badder bully on the playground.

I think each time the Celtics deliver a blow to the Heat in this series that Miami seem fall back on the negativity of that loss.

Yeah.  I couldn't believe it when I saw it.  I also couldn't believe that not one person mentioned it that I know of.  I thought him saying that was a pretty big thing to admit.  I wonder if it is Doc that is in Spoelstra's head.

I agree except for not the two reg season wins their two playoff wins, I thought after those they got too cocky and kind of expected this series to be easy. They probably figured well split one of these next 2 games on their home floor and close it on ours, have Bosh rest up until the Finals and figured it to be a cakewalk. Then once we took the next two and especially the third it sank in we aren't going anywhere. They look stunned right now all the way down to their coach.

I honestly think Spoelstra is speaking for himself and projecting onto his team. You can tell these Celtics and particularly Rondo (am I the only one who thinks he's a closet Rondo fan based on the way he talks about him?) have frustrated him for years. I still remember on of our 2010 playoff game where he just threw up his hands and asked one of the assistants if they had any ideas.

I really would like us to get into their hands and make them fold badly tonight and flood TD Garden with their tears but I dunno. Even if Lebron is that mentally weak, Wade is not. And you can be sure he'll be ready to use every basketball and MMA trick in his arsenal. Also this Miami team is not like the Cavs where he was the alpha dog and a lot of the young guys looked up to him and so it made sense the team wilted when he did. This Miami team is made of sterner stuff I think.
