Cmon you guys act like OKC fans don't cheer for them or something. In my opinion they have the best fan base in the NBA. Just an amazing crowd. Always loud, cheer really hard, and actually applauded the Spurs after beating them, so they are respectful. Also, not only do they sell out, but they have thousands of fans OUTSIDE of the arena as well cheering for them. It's also pretty cool that they have all white/blue shirts, and the fans don't think they're "too cool" to wear them, every single person in the arena wears a blue/white shirt.
They don't deserve anything.  They were gifted a team with Kevin Durant and Russell WEstbrook already on it.  They had exactly ONE bad season and since then it's been sunshine and roses... 50+ wins every year and the playoffs.  1st round, WCF and now the Finals.  That team never had to suffer through a Rashard Lewis/Vin Baker stretch.  They never had to toil away in lotto hell.  Take away Seattle's Durant and what do you have?... you have a craptastic Bobcats franchise and an empty house.  Sure their fans are rabid... but in 20 years when the THunder are finally terrible... that place will be a ghost town.  Until then, I'd rather not pretend like they aren't a bunch of fairweather ingrates who are celebrating a team another fanbase suffered to earn (Seattle).

I really feel sorry for the sonic fans but c'mon guys. It's not like the OKC fans are at fault. If you want to blame someone, blame the ownership and the league.

OKC fans are one of the better fanbase in the league. They support their team with all their hearts. To say that they don't deserve the team is ridiculous.

It would be a lot easier if we didn't have to watch Stern do his schtick. In my head, at least, OKC as they stand are unrelated and not at fault. As well as their fans. Maybe they don't deserve it, but it does nobody any good to be that bitter towards mutual fans of basketball. But it is no less a travesty that sports league orchestrators are sicking cities on other cities and insisting that somebody pay for a Disneyland or ELSE.

Stern basically said that Seattle not paying for a state of the art, glorified shopping mall laser show themselves was a sign that one of the biggest markets in the country wasn't fit to have an NBA team despite having that exact one for multiple decades with ups and downs. They should've legally had two more seasons to figure out a wiser solution and they were in the middle of a possibility as Bennett negotiated in bad faith to get the team out of there. I just think it's despicable that it's come to this for a city to keep their team and then David Stern comes to a podium with a straight face and says the NBA has no money.

They've won a championship with DJ and the gang in 78, no?

I wish cities could stop their team through moving.   It really is a market more than a sporting location though.  Bottom line it is all about money.

Why should teams be stopped from moving by the cities?  If you want that, then the cities should step up and buy the teams.

The facts are that owners OWN the teams.  They make the decisions and they should be allowed to move their teams if they feel they can make more money somewhere else.  It's their right, otherwise they wouldn't be owners and would simply be check writers.

The league is at fault for what happened to the Sonics.  They are the only group with the authority to prevent teams from moving, or at least make their lives miserable if they do move.  Unfortunately an OKC franchise was actually desired by the NBA after what they saw when NO played that season there following hurricance Katrina.  It was bad timing for Sonics fans, since that team was the only one at the time in danger of being relocated.  If somehow Seattle had kept them, we'd be talking about the OKC Zombie Sacramento Kings, not the Sonics.

Seattle will probably get another franchise...I am guessing Charlotte will lose its basketball a second time.

Seattle fans, quit crying. You got to keep the Storm. ;)
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.
