Taking the pressure off thinking about a game 6. Predict your fantasy yet realistic Celtics roster for next season. Here is mines.

Center: Greg Oden (mid-level) maybe LLE due to injury, but KG back in the fold helps our Center spot if Oden were to miss a little time.

Power Forward: K.G. (2yrs 18mil-22) maybe wishful thinking the way he's played but maybe he'll give us a hometown discount.

Small Forward: Josh Smith 4yrs (66-68 mil) & he gives us a extremely flexible defense playing 3-4 spots & makes for a very good shotblocking team. Very Big frontline!

Shooting Gaurd: Paul Pierce 1yr left at (OUCH Money) but he's our captain

Point Gaurd: Rajon Rondo

6th: PG-SG  *Avery Bradley (looking to trade him in draft to move up) out of respect that he's probably looking to start somewhere, he has arrived as a premier defensive gaurd stud.

7th: SF-SG Gerald Green (3yrs 9-12mil)hopefully he'll go 4 less & he could be instant offense from the bench which we lack alot of times. We have 3 erasers in the paint to cover up some defensive liabilities. New Rondo running mate & finisher, plus a welcomed high pct% 3pt. Spot up shooter.

8th: SG-SF Mikeal Pietrus much needed tough veteran with great defensive abilities & he wants to stay a Celtic

9th: SG-PG Austin Rivers (draft 1st pick barring we don't trade up) he would have no pressure to play & be Austin Rivers highscool stud. He could learn worth ethic from the best at their crafts & be patient being his dad is the coach & know he would be a BIG part of the future. 8-12 mins a game basically Dooling's role.

10th C Tyler Zeller (North Carolina) or PF Royce White (Iowa State) (either guy with 2nd 1st) projects who will be decent players down the line, emergency type players who provide depth & play sporadically early on.

11th: C Greg Stiesma same role as this season, play based upon matchups but a good solid big to bring off bench to stretch out a game block shots & protect paint & foul.

12th: PF JuJaun Johnson... hopefully year 2 he adds significant weight & strength maybe still won't be ready to contribute until 13-14 season. Project Big with potential though.

*If I could trade my 2 1st or a 1st and Bradley to move up high in the draft I would love to select SF Harrison Barnes from North Carolina.

Key Departures: Ray Allen (will demand more money & bigger role elsewhere) Keyon Dooling, Sasha Pavlovic, Marquis Daniels, Chris Wilcox, E'Twann Moore.

You lost me at Gerald Green.

Rondo, Dooling
Bradley, Pietrus, Daniels
Pierce, Green, Mo Harkless
Bass, Andrew Nicholson, Johnson
Garnett, Stiemsma, Kwame Brown or Antawn Jamison (someone like these 2)

I expect the same group to come back. Although I don't think Ray will accept a bench role.

Greg Oden is taking next year off. He needs a full year, pressure free, to rehab.

C's don't have the pieces to pull off a Josh Smith trade.

plus 2 rookies, and a journeyman veteran big acquired mid-season (a la Hollins)

Mo Harkless is very intriguing! I like him alot & I didn't realize Oden may take the year off. But you poo-pooing Gerald Green as a solid Bench scoring threat to pair with Rondo is a bit harsh. Dude is ready to play ball now! As for Josh Smith I don't think it would take much to get a disgruntled star who doesn't wanna be there anymore who makes alot of money. Avery Bradley, Brandon Bass & a 1st could get that deal done. Bradley could start a 2 gaurd in ATL & slide Joe to the 3 spot.

I think Bass is gonna cost too much. And ideally Despite how well he played this year, I still think he's a 6th man. Plus his value is so tied to being the 3rd option at best(stroking open jumpers when people leave him to cover Paul or KG). At best, he's a mediocre defender who will be even more exposed when KG retires. I'm not interested.
Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity...

I definitely think Pierce could still play 2. He's staying in front of a 6'9 locomotive this series. Plus with good drafting or Avery electing to be a reserve PP wouldn't have to play there for long stretches.

PG: Rondo   / Vet min (Dooling?)         / Moore
SG: Bradley / Pietrus                    / Waiters
SF: PP      / Green
PF: Illyasova/ Royce White or Nicholson  / JJJ    /Sean Williams
 C: KG      / Wilcox                     /Steimsma

If Bass opts out I go hard after Illyasova

Resign KG: 2 years/ 9 mil per( hopefully he takes a paycut so we can add depth)

Sign Illyasova: 3 years 8 mil per

sign Jeff Green 2 years 5 mil per

If Bass doesn't opt out I would go after Kaman or Humpheries on a 1 year deal and leave cap room to sign a big man in 2013.

I didn't think Humpries initially but he would solve the rebound problem we have encountered. Could he as consistent as Bass has been with the jumpshot to keep Rondos driving lanes open is the question.

He sounds like a slightly lesser Al Jefferson. I'd go after him for just above MLE money.

Pg Rondo,AB,
Sg Ray allen,Pietrus,AB,Moore
SF Pierce, Green, Pietrus,
Pf White, Nicholson, Green, Kg
C Kg, Greg, White, Nicholson

I say White runs the low post and Kg runs the high post. This I believe works. If a point guard can play in this league without a decient jumper then a power forward with post skills and great instincs passing and a great handle with the ability to get anywhere on the court against anyone he wants can play in this league also.

This kid is going to be a STAR. Hoigberg said he benched 185 29 times in the gym the other day. He is what we wanted Big Baby to grow up to be.

Majic Johnson had a weak jumper when he entered the nba also.
blind optimist or GENIUS

With NO looking to draft big this year i think Kaman will be out, id go after him for 10 mil a year if we can afford it. Always liked kamans game and i think he would be a good fit for the celtics.

Greg Oden is sitting out 12-13 season
