Royce White has learned to cope with an anxiety disorder that includes a fear of flying.

"I just buckle in," White said. "Once I get on the plane and I'm in there it's not really as big of an issue. It's more going to the airport when I'm the most scared, in anticipation of the flight. Once I'm on the flight it's OK. I got my movie going, my music going, it's more how much energy I exert being scared on the way to the plane."

White is most comfortable on the court.

"Basketball, I've been playing so long now that's almost a comfort zone," he said. "In between the lines I'm as comfortable as anywhere else in my life because I've spent the most time there."
Thats pretty good news!
I would love if the Celtics picked him with one of their first round picks. This guy does it all! He can score, pass, rebound, is a great leader etc.

But what really annoys me is that Denver (They pick right before us) is also interested in White. If we are lucky he will still be available when its our turn to pick.

as somebody that also struggles with Anxiety I am very happy for White.  The one factor that I think people need to consider with this type of disease though is the exhaustion that it causes.

When I am anxious it is like my mind and heart are running on overdrive.  My mind goes a mile a minute and your heart pumps faster than it does in a normally situation.

When I have anxiety there are times when I wake up and feel like i havent slept or towards the end of the day I feel like I just ran a marathon.  If this is something White will never truley conquer and just try to, "live through" his career could suffer because of it.

I'm just not sold on his defense. Too slow against NBA 3s, his best position defensively at the next level is power forward.

I guess it could be like Big Baby at 5, good enough even if his lack of length gets exploited regularly.

Maybe with private NBA team jets, the lead up to getting on the plane won't be as extensive, invasive, degrading, and intimidating.

This kid was 9 or 10 on 9/11. Probably pretty scary and a factor in his fear of flying.

Rondo2287- yeah, even with private planes, White could have a nervous breakdown after a few weeks of steady travel, especially when combined with any other sources of stress in his life, which being a rookie in the NBA obviously is.
