Gary Washburn is the only person I've ever heard say that the pick can be rolled over.  From every other source I've seen, he's incorrect.

Not true.  As you can see, we are already slotted for both picks.

Why in the world would we want to roll over the pick?  Clips will only get better and this is one of the deeper drafts we've had.  even without protection with Chris Paul and Blake in their prime with plenty of time to add supporting characters means Clippers would have a very late pick.

If the pick could be rolled over, it might make some sense.  The pick would have become unprotected in 2016; what are the chances that the Clippers are still good then?

It's an academic conversation, but I would have been inclined to gamble *if* we had this option (which we don't).

The news of Neil Olshey leaving the Clippers front office for Portland makes me wonder if the above is true.

From what I've read, Olshey was instrumental in recruiting and ultimately convincing Chris Paul to come to the Clippers. Now, Olshey is gone, and CP3 is entering a contract year next year. We all know what kind of executive/person Donald Sterling is. I would not be surprised if this season is the high water mark for the Clippers for the next few seasons.

I've heard this rumor enough times that I'd really like DA to say "yes, we can" or "no, we can't."  And if he's already done this, can someone link it?  I don't know why the pick would be deferable, but I suppose that OKC could have gotten that thrown in as a pot-sweetener when they made the original deal.

If this draft is extraordinarily deep (which I know people have said repeatedly, but looking at the talent in the low 20's, I'm not convinced,) or KG and Ray both tell DA that they're not coming back next year before the draft, then I'd want to keep this pick.  But otherwise I'd rather wait for a year or two.  It wouldn't surprise me at all to see the Clippers back in the 11-14 range before too long.
