Think the Celtics can beat the Heat and the Spurs. Not so sure about the Thunder. Thunder and Miami (ain't going to happen) would be a great series to watch (James/Durant, Harden/Wade)- just sayin; but I'm pull'in for Celts / Spurs.

If Boston and Oklahoma meet in the Finals, they should move Perk to the bench and start Nick Collison instead. A Collison/Ibaka pairing will be much more effective against the Celtics jump-shooting big men. Use Perk against Stiemsma.

No thanks on playing OKC. Looks like they will win the West though.

yeah we still got a ways to go..

that said, what the Thunder bigs did to LA was very impressive.. not to mention you know, durant, westbrook, harden.. sefolosha is a monster on the wing, not to mention he's guarding PGs.. they are stacked.

but I do think they would not be prepared for a Celtics defense that has been playing like it has.

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
I think matchup wise both teams will be easier for us then the Heat. They are better teams, but the Heat test our defense like no other team. I don't think we'll have to double and collapse on the drive the same way we do against MIA. For coaching reasons I would rather face OKC though.

I think even going there is just completely contrary to the way they (and Doc) do things ... you never look to the next series until, (if and when), you get through the present one.

I'm sure that individually they toss it around, but that whole concept is a no-no in the Celtics mindset, at least openly and with each other.

I'm the same way ... as soon as I start making plans for good things ahead, the Big Guy does something, (usually unpleasant), to bring me back to the reality of now, and reminds me that without a successful now, there will be no later.

IMO, whatever we get from here-on-out is gravy. ;)

I agree with the OP. I think we can beat the spurs.  But the thunder with their size length athleticism youth and depth scare me as well.

Oklahoma isn't that good, they're good but look at this starting lineup

Westbrook - scorer
Sefolosha - can't score but defend well
Durant - scorer
Ibaka - can't score and overrated defender, blocking shots aint defense
Perkins - can't score, can't limit KG, will be lit up by KG

Harden - scorer

Fisher - can't stand this guy, but he sucks
Collison - not bad but he is a role player

That isn't really that scary to me

And yeas on the court is different than discussing lineups on paper, NBA probably wants Durant vs Lebron but I think if we took care of Miami we will beat any team in the Finals.

Position 1-3 in OKC is good, Ibaka might go off for one game and win one for his team, so this is a key to not allow him to score, that's why KG should defend him the whole series.

Bass or Stiemsma/Hollins should guard Perkins, I think we should have a change in the starting lineup if Bass is too small to guard Perk. But Perkins can't score anything.

Harden is the best bench player between both teams so that's a mismatch.

Our role players, Pietrus,Dooling,Daniels,Pavlovic have to step up big in order to win games.

KG doesn't need to guard any of the Thunder's bigs, so he's free to roam on Durant and Westbrook..

Why not?  Ilbaka can score.
