Has Rondo Finally Turned the Corner (shooting)?

I'm talking about his shooting.  Most, including me, have said that he is just a jump shot away from being a great player.  Is this just "playoff" Rondo who steps up in the playoffs then goes back to the player who can't shoot free throws or jump shots, or do you think he'll shoot like this from now on?  I don't expect him to shoot lights out all the time, of course, but I'm excited that he's not only taking the open shots, but making them.  I'm even more excited about his improved free throw shooting.  He will continue to drive to the hoop, because he won't be afraid that he's going to fail at the free throw line.

Plus, I think this will get free agents thinking again about coming to Boston to play with Rondo.

Absolutely agree.

Who doesn't want to play with a PG who does literally EVERYTHING?  His playoff averages have been sick.  Rondo steps it up in the playoffs to "elite" status.

More than just his recent hot-streak shooting the ball, he has learned to give the game exactly what it needs.  His basketball IQ is now being matched by his experience.  That, combined with his athletic ability makes him a nightmare at times.

his form on his jumper and FT is pretty good. i'm not shocked both are finally starting to go in with consistency. i think game 2 was the final confidence boost he needed...because if he can hit everything on the heat in an ECF game, he should know he can do that anytime.

 :DI think it's here to stay and you best believe in the offseason that is exactly what Doc will tell Rondo he wants out of him consistently the midrange jumpshot, he will be just unstoppable and a nightmare for teams once he gets it fully down.

Rondos shot will likely always be streaky (at best).  The question is, will he ever have the confidence to take shots even when it isn't falling.

the main thing in jump-shooting is confidence. heck, look at how much Bradley's jumpshot improved when he started to believe every one was going in.

Rondo doesnt look hesitant in taking the shot, and thats the difference here. in the past when the defenses were giving them that shot he lacked the confidence to take it and he would try to force something to make it work

its not where it needs to be yet, he needs to work on that this summer...but if he can hit that consistently I think it makes Rondo maybe one of the top 10 most dominant players in the NBA

I'm most impressed that he's shooting an impressive 72% from the line in the playoffs.  I realize 72% is still kinda terrible... but it's a major improvement for him if he can keep it up.  His last two regular seasons he didn't even manage to shoot 60%.

If Rondo can continue to knock down free throws at a reasonable rate, he can be a much greater threat... it will take away his fear of driving late in games.  From what I'm seeing... he's been knocking down free throws late in games too.  Very encouraging.
