I like JVG, actually, though Breen I could do without ... though I always count my blessings when it's not Reggie, and Marv ... well, no comment.

Man, I miss the time when you could turn the sound down on the TV and listen to Johnny Most on the radio ... the ultimate in Celtics coverage, (though Mike and Tommy are a close second).

There was one exchange between Breen and Van Gundy which, I thought, perfectly explains the way I feel about them.

The camera was on Chris Rock, and the two of them were riffing on why a Knicks fan like Rock was in attendance.

Breen said, since the Knicks were out of the playoffs, Rock naturally had to find another team to root for.

Van Gundy countered by saying that no self-respecting Knick fan would ever root for either the Celtics or the Heat.

I thought their comments were quite telling: Breen is a bandwagoner, a frontrunner who gets excited about the flashy play; Van Gundy is a die-hard, a real fan who appreciates the nuances of the game.

I don't like Breen but maybe he is a HEAT fan.  Just be honest with us and say you are Breen.  We all are fans of one team or another.

Never liked Breen. JVG is a bit easier to take with Mark Jackson no longer there. I thought M.Jackson brought the worst out of JVG (as a commentator).

Most of ESPN's guys (commentators) are really bad at their jobs. It's a pity. They could have a much better product if they put some more effort into selecting quality commentators and analysts.

Van Gundy is the best with Kerr close behind, BUT, the ESPN pre game and half-time crew os HORRIBLE....Magic doesn't do his homework and the TNT crew is the bast by far although Shaq does his best Marcel Marceau imitation

I have a thick skin .  I sorta like JVG 's sometimes off the wall comments.  He says things your average guy in the stand would say without thinking or remembering he is on TV ... funny....he is a bit senile .  Overall I like his stuff.  He gets emotional and thats cool , I don't want a robot calling ther game.   I don't mind his Knicks props either.  He is just being himself.  

The announcer that makes my "SKIN CRAWL"  it is like fingernails on a blackboard...is  Bill Walton.  

Walton  might need to be in a straight jacket before he dies.

love the idea of stan and jeff van gundy together in the booth.  still need a play by play guy though, just not breen or tirico.

JVG is probably the best out there, and when they had Mark Jackson it was lights out.

As far as play by play, it doesn't get any better than Kevin Harlan.

  I actually enjoy JVG now much more then I did when he was working With Mark Jackson & Breen.  Mark Jackson was horrible.  One sound bite after another.  No insight at all.  He sounded a whole lot like a politician.
