I think of it like this:

1) Lebron and Wade attack the rim more than just about anyone in the league, and the celtics are a jump shooting team. Against the heat, until Paul Pierce and Ray Allen start playing like its 2006, and rondo attacks the rim consistently like he did tonight, we're always gonna have a free thrown discrepancy.

2) superstars get calls. Lebron and Wade are two of the games biggest.

3) refs are human, and screw up calls, often in favor of the home team and superduperstars. The heat had both tonight.

I believe my 3 reasons, because believing the alternative (that there is a concerted effort on behalf of the league for the heat), just makes it unfun to watch.

All 3 of your beliefs may be right on the money. Sorry, but none of them can excuse missing that call when Wade's forearm came across Rondo's face. There is NO WAY they could have missed that. The incompetence of the officials in this league is astounding.

I can understand the last paragraph and that is why I think some people refuse to blame the refs. Because they just don't want to think that. Wish I could do that but year after year and after games like this it is impossible for me to do it. Impossible

1) This doesn't account for the lack of fouls called on Lebron and Wade. They play heavy minutes with an aggressive style.

2) Superstars should not get preferential treatment. I want games decided on skill, not star power.

3) I understand mistakes but it is the lack of consistency that kills me. A foul/non-foul should be a foul/non-foul for the other team/player.

After game one's technicals (the refs didn't cost us game 1) and tonight's horrible discrepancies it seems to me the NBA wants its most marketable superstars in the Finals.

The one that got me really really angry was the part where Wade slapped Rondo in the face and no calls were made...

I wanted to throw my remote at the TV at that point. Like how do you miss that

If that was true, kg and many others would foul out every single game. I don't know exactly how it's justified, but players get away with stuff, and those players are mostly stars. Shawne Williams couldn't play defense like kg does and still make it 30 minutes a game.

That said, in principal, I agree.

I am so angry to the point where I did almost cry. I can't even stomach to watch ESPN or anything right now on TV because I'm angry.
I said it before and I'll say it again you know it's bad when even people who aren't even Celtics fans say that Boston was robbed tonight.
Rajon played his butt off and left it all on the floor. I will give him the upmost respect and I am proud of this team. They have been through hell and back with everything going against them this season.
Also I don't want to hear jack from a Heat fan, a Heat player or Spo EVER about the refs. They better not EVER talk about not getting calls.
They will get theirs and yes Karma will get them big time.

They wouldn't foul out too often, they'd adjust their games.

It's got to be deflating if you are Paul Pierce and you know that you literally can't even body up on Lebron when he posts on you and its going to be called a foul. He got called for 2 different fouls when he put his arm on Lebrons back to body him in the post. Forgot you couldn't defend down there.

Lebron shot 24 foul shots by himself, and he barely went to the hoop. All the his FTA's came on bailout calls cause his jumper didn't fall. It's sickening.

How about the bailout Wade foul where Pierce goes straight up is even backing away, and Wade with no chance in hell of the ball going in the hole spinning around backwards creates the contact and just flicks it up and is awarded the foul. It was just disgusting.

They should just forfeit the rest of the games to make a statement. Why would anyone want to compete in a game that's rigged? I certainly can't watch it. They might as well go to a Vegas and gamble if they want to try and win in an unfair game.  What I don't get though is that I always thought it was about marketing and ratings, but if that were the case wouldn't san Antonio be getting porked as well? Stern just wont let us even have a chance. Each series now has had game changing calls against us. Who knows what this team could have really accomplished if given the chance, and this bs has been going on since we won the first title

Ps- this forum needs an emoticon that is barfing because that's my emotion right now

I think that what p---es me off the most is that our superstars don't get the same superstar calls as the Heat's superstars.  That makes it feel like an up hill battle.

I might be angry too on some nights if I'm a Bobcats fan and I feel like my team got hosed because the big, famous Celtics where in town.

But, it makes me furious that we are treated like the Bobcats compared to the gosh darned Heat!!!

I'm not even sure there's anything conspiratorial about it.  It's still infuriating, though.

I agree with this but I am sorry, there is no amount of "aggressiveness" that should lead to one guy on a team shooting 24 foul shots.
