I'm sure that Stern will not be pleased with this.  Fortunately he won't be able to get them to pull it like he did to Steve A. Smith's rant on espn.

yeah, well the refs best not be obviously SUBJECTIVE this game or it could get ugly.
only for the Celtics.  NBA won't care if the officiating is just as bad in game 2.

well, what i mean is tempers could flare up big time. Somebody just might get enough and when wade tries to drive the lane somebody could choke slam him or knock him in the head especially if the game is lost already anyway. just sayin'.

We don't have a sacrificial lamb like Vitaly Potapenko or Greg Kite to do this task. I don't think Rondo's remarks of making the Cheat hit the deck is appropriate either. That will simply call attention to the Celtics defense for fouls. We need to stand in the lane and beat Lebron Wade to the spot outside the 6 foot circle and force them to stop and look for other players or pull up for mid rangers and then get the rebound.
The beatings will continue until morale improves

Let's take a page from Spoelstra's playbook.

Can't we use a scrub like Sean Williams to do his best Dexter Pittman impression and send the Cheat sprawling to the floor?

What good is that going to do when neither the messiah or wade will ever get called for charging....Or traveling to get there for that matter?  Essentially just wasting fouls by trying to play defense on those two if Game 1 officiating is any indication.

how do you feel about us playing zone most of the game? wouldn't that help us defensive rebounding wise? Plus give us more offensive possessions due to no more second and third chances for the Cheat as far as offensive rebounds goes? Do you think the Miami Cheat could beat us from outside only? Would it help slow down the easy buckets lebum james and D wade are getting? i do not know if we can stay with them in man.  ???

It's refreshing to hear someone tell it like it is.  Unlike most of the play-by-play guys & commentators who are under Stern's watchful eye.  They are like Al Jazeera.

Mike Breen is probably the worst one of the lot.

I really hate people talking smack about Al Jazeera, its actually the only unbiased media outlet out there. Its the Anti Fox news. Have you ever watched Al Jazeera?

Watch a documentary called Control Room, then come back and talk to me about Al Jazeera.

Thanks

About as unbiased as the New York Times...Which seems like a division of Al-Jazeera.

That Van Gundy is so outspoken about the officiating says to me that he's not interested in coaching anytime soon.

Didn't expect any Al Jazeera defenders on celticsblog.  I think I'll skip the documentary as I have no interest.  Maybe I should have used Baghdad Bob as a comp.  Although I'm sure he had his defenders as well.

Zone defense more often than not allows for more offensive rebounds as when the shot goes up players are not matched up with a man to box out, allowing bigs to gain position and athletic wings a clean path to the rim to rebound.

And p.s. Rida is correct. Al Jazeera is far more akin to the BBC than any news channel in The US.

Please show more respect to the Brain.  Heenan showed far more respect for the integrity of his profession than Stern has for the NBA product.

Really?  I listen to Al-Jazeera, CBS, PBS, NPR or the NBCs...I just assume that what they report is patently false.  I'm usually right.  Same as reading the New York Times or USA Today.  I listen to BBC or ABC and I just assume that small parts of the report may have truth...But never all of it.  I'm usually right then also.

They are all similar in their reportings.

What I love most about Al Jazeera, especially in print (online), is their dedication to tell stories thoroughly instead of just giving a cursory review that can be found anywhere.  Their reporters offer a true contribution to the industry.

As an American it is embarrassing to seem them consistently do a better job reporting our own domestic issues than our own media outlets, but it is what it is.  Our society doesn't value depth much anymore.

well let's be practical here.  the C's defense already fails to box out the other team's players so it shouldn't matter in that respect.  if anything, with all 5 C's closer to the basket, C's should be able to defend their board better than usual

I wouldn't mind if Rasheed Wallace came out of nowhere and gave a steel chair shot to Joey Crawford and took over referee duties WWE style!
