He is horrible. He has butter fingers, he can't finish at the rim, can't rebound, sets illegal screens,gets unnecessary techs, and is slow as molasses. Danny dodged a bullet by not re-signing him.

do you think there's any chance they will amnesty him?  It's a lot of money to pay an overrated role player.

yeah I think so. Honestly I'd take him back if possible (though he'd probably demand too much). It would be sick having Perk and Green. DA would look like a genius haha

Green was also horrible last season, and has missed this whole season. What if we got Harden or Ibaka...

Him and Glen Davis both. Ainge dodged two bullets and got decent value on top of it for those 2.

  • GOT IT!!!
Jury is still out on that trade. Perk was brought in to stop Bynum which he did. Not many can handle Duncan even at the age of 36.

Green has way more upside though. I think he just had trouble adjusting midway through the season his stats were pretty good in OKC. If anything I could see the celts grooming him to be the next Pierce (or as close as he could get). Perk is at the top of his ceiling though

Perk passed his ceiling long ago, he's on the downslope now.

Question for anyone better versed in the salary cap than me (which should be just about anyone on Celticsblog).  What are the chances of Perkins getting amnestied by OKC?

They're going to have to pay Harden...(that is assuming they can keep him) and with 3 studs - I would think that an overpaid center (albeit a good one) may not work cap-wise for them.

Thoughts on this?

The Thunder have to somehow get rid of Perk's big contract the year after next if they want to resign both Harden and Ibaka, otherwise their luxury tax under new CBA will be scary.

the question will be, via trade or amnesty, what will other teams be willing to pay for Perk? I don't see the price very high anymore.

I love this thread, I love when the truth finally comes out... and I'm not even talking about Paul Pierce.

Sorry Perk but it's true  :-X :-[ ::)

Danny got hammered for dealing Perk, but at the end of the day he's not worth what OKC is paying him.  It's going to be real interesting to see what they do going forward...
