  • GOT IT!!!
I was rooting hard for Charlotte to get it so I could put the speculation to rest. The Bulls getting the top pick really ramped it up and this really has me questioning.

Lots of 'lucky coincidences' the last few years then.  ::)
I honestly don't get all the ref and lottery conspiracy theories. We're an intelligent fan base.

We are intelligent enough to see that something fishy is going on. Intelligence does not mean believe everything the league says or does.

So are the reps from each team each year all just keeping quiet? With so much money on the line based on getting the top superstar, there is no way the owners would allow the NBA to have that kind of control.

Crooked refereeing I can understand due to the subjective nature of it. But not the ping pong balls being watched by 14 reps year in and year out.

By "intelligent enough" you mean delusional?

NBA got the number one pick, hmmmmmm and recently sold this team?
Typo? NBA didn't get the pick, as you mention later in your sentence.

No matter what happens in the lottery, tin foil heads will have a narrative.

-Are those the same tin foil heads who watch the messiah step out of bounds on the baseline with an official right behind him?...And have MiamiBreen, who sees the same thing we do...Say it looks like he barely stayed inbounds?

-Are those the same tin foil heads who watch duhhwane whade hit Rondo upside the face in front of an official and then charge into a straight up Paul Pierce to foul Pierce out?

-Are those the same tin foil heads who let duhhhwaaane perfectly perform the Reggie Miller front kick in front of an official and get rewarded with an and-one?

Must be a lot of us tin foil heads out there then, Guava.

I think Charlotte should have lost their pick altogether.

Teams that make a mockery of the game....Like we did when we overtly tanked.... Should be penalized.  Fans deserve better than in Charlotte's case...Guest coaches...Buying out your best player..etc.  Tickets cost too much for a team to make overt efforts to lose.

At least Washington and New Orleans were playing to win.

They stunk because they have no talent, not because they tried to lose.

In this thread, the first team speculated would get the #1 pick was the Nets.  Then Cavs.  Then Charlotte.  Then the Cavs again.  I think this thread proves there was no concensus conspiracy theory.

I agree.  Charlotte legimiately blew.  Did people see the lineup/rotation they were trotting out every night?  Did people actually expect them to win more than 10 games?

Blame the GM and the personnel staff there, not tanking.
