Miami = 21 fouls
Boston = 19 fouls

Miami = 16 of 23 from the line
Boston = 11 of 21 from the line

Miami = 50% overall just 20% from three
Boston = 39.5% overall and 28.6% from three

Miami = 48 rebounds, 13 offensive
Boston = 33 rebounds, 10 offensive

It is clear why Boston lost this game and it had nothing to do with officiating.  This board needs to get over it and quit being whining crybabies, especially when it had absolutely nothing to do with the outcome of the game.  Miami just dominated Boston on the boards and hit their shots.  Boston did not.  Period.  End of discussion.

Well obviously you're trying to stir up people just to get responses from members. I don't like blaming refs for the outcome of a game, but when u have people in the media and other sports figures questioning the officiating in both games, then there's a real problem.

The Celtics lost game two, because they lack effort in the 2nd half. The Celtics went into the last two quarters and took their foot off the gas. The Celtics stop double-teaming Wade and Lebron, in the 3rd and 4th. And second chance points hurt the Celts too.

These bad habits have to stop in order for the C's to be successful in games 3 and 4.

That was game one, written after game one.

I clearly posted this after game 1 not game 2.  And the non-call on Rondo in overtime was a terrible non-call, but most of the rest of the game I felt was officiated pretty evenly.  Boston just committed more fouls, especially from the bench (17 fouls vs. 7 points - atrocious).  Pietrus, Dooling, and Stiesmsa were horrible last night.  They all committed stupid fouls and then let the Heat get shots off for a number of "and 1" situations.

You're either an official or related to one with all of this Thin Blue Line nonsense you're spouting.
Coined the CelticsBlog term, "Euromistake."

Even if some people believe the officiating was fair last night I think everyone should be able to agree on the fact that just about every "50-50" call i.e every call that could have went either way pretty much went against us.

When that happens you are still fighting that uphill climb against the refs

Why don't we just post the foul and free throw descrepency here since that was your main argument after game one?

Now it was ridiculously egregious and you wipe it away  by saying one bad call and the rest was fine.

Someone is just in D-E-N-I-A-L

Yeah, the intent was to use foul count as a means to show us the refs did a decent job in game 1. Ok then. Now it's "we just fouled a lot". Got it, nothing to see here folks, move along.

We were screwed, no doubt about it.
Back to wanting Joe fired.

That's not fair.  Those guys only miss calls when they are distracted or not looking.

The NBA officials miss things when they are looking right at it.

Well taken...

I was the person who chastised somebody for comparing David Stern to Bobby the Brain Heenan.

---------------------

My favorite non-call last night was when the messiah drove the baseline and half of his foot was out of bounds in plain view of an official and the monitor....And the non-partisan idiot Breen said it looked like he was barely inbounds....lol

The officiating is god awful in the NBA. I think this series has highlighted the flaws with NBA officiating, but the Celtics have to play around that kind of adversity. The Celtics have to be consistent all 48 minutes and not just the 1st half.

Basic fundamentals the Celtics don't do:
Rebound
Box-out
Double-team Wade and James all 4 quarters. They're too good for single coverage. C's don't have guys like JO, Wilcox, Bradley or Green to through strength and size at Wade, James, and Haslem.

Those are not flaws...kp4000...It's by design.

As wdleehi said....They simply miss too many things that happen right in front of their face when one of the chosen ones are involved in the play.

You'd be absolutely right after game 1... but in game 2 the Celtics overcame outrageous officiating and they almost got it. Ray's missed three which could've put the Celtics 8 points ahead was big.

You usually can overcome biased foul calls (Lebron 24 times to the line, Celtics 29) and maybe a flagrant or technical foul. But they're humans, and they got literally beaten up by the Heat in their painted area. Karate Wade should play hockey or football, not organized basketball.

If you think the refs have nothing with the outcome of this series, or the 2010 Finals, then you are very lucky.

Many of the offensive boards the C's gave up were because of the help and doubles screwing up box outs. (like Rondo trying to box out LBJ late)

Rondo got a foul on the bottom of a pile up when he was knocked down and was in front of LeBron.  We could do everything fundamentally sound and if one team is allowed to hit our shooters in the face while we shoot with impunity then we are not going to win.
