11-21 is unacceptable, especially for this team.

That's one of the more overlooked aspects of last night's game.

That's 10 missed free throws that could have been 10 points added to our total. Sure would've helped to keep the game close, don't you think?

This is a make or miss league. The Celtics unfortunately are simply not making shots right now. A lot of it is tough defense and lack of athleticism but a lot of it is self inflicted.

There still are opportunities to get this right and get the ECF going in a different direction.
The beatings will continue until morale improves

Completely agree.  How much different would the game look in the last 3 minutes if we were down by 5 rather than 15?  The worst part of that is Rondo was not even part of that.

I'd take this as good news.  We won't be ~50% from the line again.

True, but there is a good chance the team is in the 30's in FG% again, as Miami plays solid team defense.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Rough stat to look at, but the combined 6 - 25 from our two big scorers is that stat that seems more unacceptable to me. They shoot just 40% in the game (10 - 25) which still isnt that great and thats 8 to 10 points right there.

Clearly the two together are not a recipe for success. C's played hard at times; but not well. Bench stepped up a little; but need more all around.

That's actually one of the things I feel good about ...

I feel like we played our C game last night and they played their B+ game and we were still in it for 80% of the game.

Obviously, we're not going to advance playing our C game, but we've got a lot of room for improvement.

I'm also assuming that at some point in time our 3pt shooting will regress toward our season average of 38% instead of languishing around 20%.

Perfectly said.  I didn't think Miami's defense was overwhelming, it was good but not crazy good.

Shoot 45% and make a few more FTs and the game is probably tied in the 4th.

One of my favorite threads of the day. One we can all agree on. TP.

Yeah that is definitely one area that needs to be fixed. Ray is the one who worries me the most. I'm getting used to him missing at the line now but I'm wondering if he should be out there playing if shooting FTs are a problem for him. It's admirable that our guys are willing to gut it out but sometimes I question if it's the best thing to do.
Tommy: He's got a line about me. Tell him the line.

Mike: Everybody 60 or over knows Tommy as a player. Everybody 40 or over knows Tommy as a coach. Everybody 20 or over knows Tommy as a broadcaster. And everybody 10 or under thinks he's Shrek.

Agree 100%.  I don't get why he's still out there for so many minutes.
