Ray Allen HAS to return to form for the Celtics to have any chance. There's just no way around it.

How can he return to form if his injury is becoming worse (as evident by the way he plays) and can only be fixed via surgery?

I know for sure Ray Allen would have more open looks in this series than last series than the Sixers

I want him too and I want this team to prove the doubters wrong.

I am sick and tired of people doubting and disrespecting this team like the Heat are just gonna walk all over them and the C's will let them because they're so weak and inferior to the big bad Heat.

He has painful nagging excuse of the bone spurs is screwing up his timing and execution of his jumper shoot. He can't be expected to be 30  point guy this season.  Over his life he has deveopled a steady routine  and the injury messes with formula of an exact release and form.  He also can't cut as fast , so he has less time to square up and release.

He can't get back where he should be with out the surgery .

But that said , he still can get some shots and use his vet savy to impact the offense in postive ways.

If he could give use 12 points and  5 assist and play some good "D" that would good.  If he could hit 1-2 buckets , that draws the attention of the "D" and helps the team.

He doesn't look right moving and its sad to watch , props to him for even going out there .

Ray gets revenge for the three point contest this series.  I hope.

Ray Allen's got to look in the mirror and say the following.  "I'm Ray Allen, I'm Ray Allen, I'M RAY MF'N ALLEN, [dang] IT!  I'm the all-time leader in threes! An All Star for the last 15 yrs!  I'm not your average 2 guard playing with bone spurs...I'M RAY MF'N ALLEN, I HAVE BONE SPURS AND I'M ABOUT TO EMBARRASS DWADE ON ONE ANKLE!!"

And finish with an Ashley Schaeffer Woooo!

I just hope Miami puts Wade on him. If Wade guards Rondo and Chalmers checks Ray, then we could be in for a harsh series.

Its too late now...it aint gonna happen.

Ray will probably ave 8 points and around 3 assists in this series with occasional important 3 point buckets dispersed every now and then.

I really cannot see any evidence to show that he is even improving from his injury....In the end, im hoping im wrong and ray makes me eat my words.   :-\

I agree it's unlikely, but I believe it may be our only chance. We need at least 3 of Rondo, Pierce, Garnett, and Allen scoring buckets along with help from role players like Bass, Pietrus, Dooling, etc.

Gotta chalk one up for myself here - when they put Wade or James on Rondo and covered with Battier on Pierce (or whoever on Ray), we were screwed. This is going to be Doc's biggest problem of the series because Chalmers will not be on Rondo anymore.

Ray is clearly out of sync right now. When was the last time he missed 4 free throws in a single game? The injury has obviously caught up with his confidence. He's battling both physical and mental issues right now. He just needs to snap out of it. Hopefully soon.

I completely agree with this.  I do not want to see DW or LJ guarding Rondo anymore.  There is another thread where the original poster was blaming Rondo for the loss (a dumb idea and he isn't to blame).  But what that poster missed is that DW and LJ are elite defenders.  If we can't exploit the matchup that comes from one of them switching to Rondo we are dead in the water.  RA is too hurt to exploit anyone, PP has had a bad start and even SB on Pierce isn't good for us.  I am hoping that Spoelstra isn't smart enough to do this.

If I was him I would put Wade on Rondo in the 3rd 1/4 and Lebron in the 4th.  I don't know that we have any decent adjustments to that strategy.  It sucks.

I just hope Miami puts Wade on him. If Wade guards Rondo and Chalmers checks Ray, then we could be in for a harsh series.
