Since 2008 , its been the same with Ray Allen, 1st round, some 2nd round he struggles, loses confidence and cant regain it.

It seems like when they move on to the next round and the opponnent becomes tougher and when Ray becomes the player that doesnt get all the attention media and game wise he plays his best.

Maybe the injury will effect him and he wont be able to,

but it seems like in these types of situations he either needs a couple of games or even a series to get it right.

He does well against the Heat. It just sucks that he probably wont be able to hang with Wade on the other end.

I just think his injuries will be too much for him too handle.. In game 7 vs the 6ers he could hardly run up and down the court on most plays... Hes having trouble running off screens, and getting open, when he does get a shot, you can just tell his form is off. Im worried but hope he can hold it together for at least a few more games.

I don't.  I'd love it if he did but I can't see him being of any major impact (positive) impact on offense for the rest of the year.  Maybe he'll hit a key bucket or two (like he did against the sixers) but I don't think we'll see him hit more than 3-4 jumpshots in a game from here on out.

A good performance from Ray in any game would be a big lift and go a long way towards securing a win

This situation for the Celtics and their players is unique  all old and injured...great drama .....the makings  of a series legions are made of.

I agree. I think some people don't realize the extent of Ray's injury, and that it won't get better at all until he has surgery. It has completely limited his motion and speed, and has thrown off his balance and thus his shooting form.

Doc said that in game 7 there were a few moments when Ray was shaking his foot on the court because it was too numb, and he began passing up shots because he simply didn't feel that he had the lift to even shoot them.

All this is on offense. On defense a limited Ray will get crushed by Wade. I have a ton of respect for Ray for playing through this injury and not making excuses, and I think after surgery he wil be back to form next year for some team, but he's not going to suddenly get better this year. Doc needs to use the bench (Pietrus, Pavlovic, Daniels, and Dooling) instead of Ray in this round.

i understand the injuries of all our players
avery did more than you could ask of a player
im most worried bout kg's hip bangin inside with those beast
ray will not start if he knows he cant handle it
he is not as tight going round picks~first step not the same
if he does start than i expect he feels he can bring something to the table

back to form? no
but a lil bit more than last game would be great
last game when it counted most he gave us what we needed

Maybe the stats are lying but Moore seems to be roughly as effective as all of these, and better in some parameters. See attached comparison.

I think game 1 is a great opportunity to take some risks and see what we have with Moore and Pavlovic. Ray could certainly use some rest.

I don't know if we can expect him to "return to form"; however, I do think it's possible that he may readjust his shooting stroke to account for his lack of lift and stability.

If he does that, he can certainly be more effective.

I wish Moore would get some shooting guard time.  He  short , but he has nerves of steel, no fear , and IMO is the best dribbler on our team. All he needs to do is hits one shot ...he good for 6 more just like it .  Or play Pav some.   They are HIGH ENERGY , streak shooter that might help out sometimes STUCK in Neutral offense.

I do.

I believe. Other then the lakers I don't think any other team could bring out the consistent best from our core four then miami.

Ray Allen HAS to return to form for the Celtics to have any chance. There's just no way around it.
