Something has happened to Peter May. Either he's got someone ghost writing his column, or he's on some seriously good drugs these days.

Excellent article, May is absolutely correct, the celtics have a great chance at stealing this series.

It's just weird seeing this kind of unbridled optimism from May.

Although, being the curmudgeon he is, I'm sure it's more about just being a contrarian.

Maybe.

Or... Perhaps the title of this thread is correct.  ;D
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

idk I think he has a good point. I dont think this series as one sided in the heat's favor as some people seem to think. Hey this is the match-up everyone wanted now isnt it?

I guess Peter May has been taking the stuff I have.

Yea, in a way, it means a lot more coming from May, considering hus usual perspective. I think he is just tired of the media's Heat lovefest.

I like May's overall optimism and point, although his evidence/argument is a little lacking. Point 1 is fair, Point 2 refers to Quis and Sasha as reasons we'll beat the Heat (Quis can't keep up with Wade and would be obliterated by Lebron, Sasha actually might be able to do something but he's not going to get PT). Point 3 is probably fair but, as others have pointed out, just puts the ball in Lebron and Wade's hands more. Point 4 is just a hypothetical that, if true, would support his claim, but all he really says is that "it's not outside the realm of possibility." That's not exactly compelling. And point 5 is just silly.

The Celtics have a great shot at pulling an upset in this series, but May is really stretching with some of these points.

The Celtics winning the series wouldn't exactly be a steal. No two superstars will win this series. This series will be won by the better team, plain and simple.

If the Heat can manage to beat the Celtics in a best of 7 series, regardless of how much Lebron and Wade do to help them towards that goal, then it will be because the Heat were the better team. I think the Celtics are the better team, and I expect them to go out there and prove that they are the better team.

actually, these are really the only points that boils down the series, extended minutes on the not often used guys to catch- up with the two of the heat..quis& sasha are expected to be on their way, but not to stop them all the time from doing what they do best, the points are valid because if you look at it at face value, what you see with the celtics is actually what you get, no added flavorings to spice it up, it's all about stepping up, making use of what you "only" have..i wonder some put this as a pipe dream, the disparity is not as wide as some people exaggerate it to be..

I think you misunderstand the point of my post. Peter May has always been a wet blanket, and it's strange hearing him be all "rah-rah" about the Celtics all of a sudden.

Personally, I agree with him in this particular instance. But that's neither here nor there.

A very well-written, positive, and accurate article by Peter May.

TP for the post.

He makes good sense.

The games have to be played.

Don't count out BOS, says Peter May.

I'm listening, Mr. May. :)
