Yes I said we.

I think people forget that before "The Decision" we were coming off arguably one of the most frustrating Game 7 Finals losses of all time.  We had a championship in our laps, and because of horrible refs poor offensive execution for one quarter, we let our hated rivals take it away.

A year later, our team was rolling and seemingly on the verge of getting back to that spot.  A controversial trade was made in order to bolster our team for an eventual run-in with the new front-runners of the Eastern Conference, the Miami CHeat.

We played a hard fought series against the NEW BIG THREE.  Unfortunately the dirtiest player in the league Miami's cornerstone shooting guard submarined our franchise PG and dislocated his elbow.  Though we lost in 5 games, it was a competitive series, requiring Lebron (a Rondo-like career 3-point shooter) to hit fadeaway, desperation threes in consecutive games to close us out.

I don't know about you, but that bad taste from that series has never left my mouth.

This is the Celtics destiny.  Whatever you have to say about this team, good or bad, this is where we should be.  Where we wanted to be.  Where we need to be.

And quite frankly, I wouldn't have it any other way.

Beat the Heat.

I would love to see us get payback on Wade but I simply don't see it happening we don't have a goon.

Knock knock.

"Hello?"

"I'm Sean Williams, did I hear you needed a goon?"
Stay classy, San Diego. Hello, Baxter? Baxter, is that you? Bark twice if you're in Milwaukee. Is this Wilt Chamberlain? Have the decency to say something.

We were going to lose to the Heat in 5 regardless of Rondo's injury.  King James and Wade are too good.

We are a worse team this year despite KG's otherworldly play.  Good news is that Heat are a little worse too (if Bosh doesn't return).  Could theoretically take this series to 6 games and if Ray Allen suddenly starts playing like a god, we have a long-shot chance of winning.

I agree for the most part.

I just think that Ray needs to be godly on the defensive end though.

I dont even care if his shooting doesnt come aroung.

EXACTLY where we wanted to be would be healthly (Ray, AB, Green, Wilcox), and having home court advantage.  Let's be honest we scraped by to get to where we are against ATL and PHI of all teams.

We need a really quick start to the series to have any chance.  Like the Pacers ran out to 2-1; only they couldn't pull off another W.  Let's say it goes 2-2, we are not going to win 2 out of 3 with 2 games in MIA.

sorry, don't post here often, but am checking up on the site/forums regularly... not gonna be rude, but being optimistic sometimes wouldn't kill you (or a lot of the others around here)

even if you don't think that we realistically have a hope of beating the heat, a defeatist attitude certainly isn't going to improve things.

Saying we had no chance of winning a game that we lost in overtime when Rondo was playing with one arm is fairly nonsensical. Whatever happened later in the series it's more likely than not we'd have gone back to Miami 2-2.

Nonsense.  I don't see how you can look at the way we played against the Heat during the regular season with a healthy Rondo, then say he would have made no difference in the series last year.

This team is better.  KG is playing better.  Rondo is here and healthy, and he owns Chalmers.  Bass >>>>>> BBD - do we forget how horrible BBD was against Miami last year?  And Chris Bosh is hurt.

How is Miami winning this in 5 again?  No way.  Let's do it.
