  • GOT IT!!!
The Captain went to the bench and Rondo did what a leader does. He willed the C's to a victory. Dude is turning a corner late in games. Huge shots and free throws tonight.

Yep.  For 3 1/2 quarters, I thought he was having a pretty mediocre game.  Then, the refs fouled Pierce out, and Rondo came alive.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
To seems to have the "clutch gene".

Live that he stepped up after Paul fouled out.

agreed, that sums it up.  Rondo looked pretty pedestrian until PP was fouled out

Precisely. He answered the bell.

He played great when it mattered...down the stretch with PP out.

But he wasn't playing all that great earlier in the game....no one really was...although Pierce did come out aggressive and playing with extreme effort.

3+ quarters of bleh, hits a lucky deep jumper and catches fire from there on out.

He played 4 minutes of all-star basketball at the end, but he was ridiculously underwhelming before that.

Before the three, he was 0-5 from the field from outside 5 feet.

As a team, they're lucky he decided to channel his inner Ray Allen in the final minutes, but a bit of consistency would have made the fourth quarter of this game irrelevant, and they would have won by double digits.

You never know what you're going to get from him.

I think rondo showed great leadership last night and why he is a special player.

4minutes to go, close game, the captain/closer fouls out.

Rondo basically said "I got this" and then took over...he hit clutch shots, grabbed rebounds. it was beautiful to watch. THAT is the rondo we need against Miami though because he should be able to score at will

The whole team was underwhelming before the 4th quarter.
If Ray Allen had hit some shots, 1-8, 0-5 from three, the game would have been a blow out. If PP wasn't 6-14 the game would have been a blow out. Maybe not apply the hyper-criticism to Rondo and no one else (how about to no one?) especially as he is the guy that won this game.

Rondo's primary jobs are to get people open shots on offense and be disruptive on defense. He was doing that throughout the game, just like he usually does. People should consider that when Ray or Paul or KG or Bass miss a ton of open shots we're actually getting less than we need from them and not from Rondo.

Where does Rondo's SUPER DEEP three rank among Celtics all-time plays??

I think it edges out his play when he emaciated Jason Williams a couple years ago.. but maybe not.
