I know I'm counting my chickens before they hatch, but if the Celtics make it past Philly, game 1 of the ECF will be Monday.  They should sit all of the starters.  You only have to win 1 of 2 games to get homecourt back, and they'll be in bad shape after playing Sat night, traveling and trying to prep for Miami.  Start Moore, Dooling, Sasha, JJJ and Stiemsma.  Blow the game.  Let Miami set an NBA record for scoring in a playoff game, then come in Wednesday, well rested, ready to execute and steal a game.  Otherwise I think we'll see the c's put in a valiant effort, but be gassed for Wednesday's game.

I bet that starting lineup would still out rebound the Heat, so why not?

This banged up C's squad will be lucky to WIN one game, let alone tank one.

Shaq as GM in Orlando is a better idea.

I dunno what happened between the regular season and the playoffs to turn you into such a negative nancy, but you used to form some fairly well-reasoned opinions round here (despite loving Bradley a little too much).

This is the playoffs. It's not meant to be easy. It's not meant to look seamless a lot of the time because the other team is good enough to disrupt your sets. Atlanta and Philadelphia are good basketball teams and if we win game 7 we will officially be one of the four best teams in the NBA. These are the times you enjoy as a fan, not continue to write doomsday theories.

Let's support this team and take it one game at time. Be critical of their performance on a game by game basis, but perhaps try to avoid saying "this teams done" before they're actually done.

I read the OP three times and still don't understand what he's trying to say or prove. Umm no you don't tank playoff games.

not only is it a terrible strategy for winning the series, but Stern would punish us for eternity for killing the tv ratings by benching our starters in the ECFs.

I'd rather the C's go down swinging than just lying down and giving up.

That's not the Celtics way.

point is you need to win 1 out of 2 games to gain homecourt back.  They're not winning game 1 after only getting 1 day of rest, so why not concede and give yourself a legitimate shot at game 2.  Otherwise you're going into game 2 with again 1 days rest and diminished odds. I know it's an out there theory, but it could actually work

Something tells me you would not be a good coach.

Think about what you are saying here. Realistic or not, all your doing is "QUITTING".

What if they lose game 2? You would instantly be fired and rightfully so.

If Miami comes out flat or the supporting cast doesnt do well , Celtics could steal game 1.

Is not a tank problem. If Cs play like now, I do not see chances Vs Heat. We need to have excellent shooting percentage...
