No slight to Ray but its time for Pavs to get the start. Pietrus looks just as bad on D as Ray. Pavs CAN defend, play smart ball and he may be just the shake up we need.

Ray comes off the bench in the 6th man role, where even with injury, I think he does a heck of a job with that 2nd unit.

I never thought id post lobbying for Pavs to start, but it is time.

Let the Serbian play!

I'd actually start Pietrus and have him take bradleys minutes.. And pavs and Ray split minutes off the bench.. Pietrus would fit in good with the starters IMO..

That would work too, just as long as Ray doesnt start and quis gets no minutes, I am content

Did you watch Pietrus last night or at all recently? hes been nothing short of absolutely disastrous in my opinion...worse than ray.
As I stated in another thread I have no idea why Pavlovic hasnt gotten minutes, does the team not like him? what? he can shoot, defend and has plenty of postseason experience but at this point hes collected so many cobwebs its probably to late

  • It's all about the TEAM!
Pietrus played 35 minutes last night and scored 5 points.

Can't have that!

Without Avery we have no shooting guards.

A crippled Ray Allen is still our best option at the 2.

At least he still draws some attention.

Pietrus and Sasha just don't do anything right now.

I love Ray, if he were 100% healthy right now, I might consider starting him against Wade.

This being said, when Ray was healthy last year, Wade destroyed him. It's not Ray's fault. He's a 37 year old off guard trying to guard one of the sneakiest, most herky Jerky, younger offensive off guards in the league.

The main reason I'd give the nod to Pavs is because Bradley's youthful energy is what gave our starting unit such a boost over the last half of the season.

With Rondo, Bass and Pavs and odd as it may sound, a very fast and athletic 36 year old KG "at the center" position, where he seems faster than any center he goes against, we have some juice in that starting lineup. Pierce tags along at a respectable level at the three as well.

You put a banged up Pietrus or Ray in there and we're going to get bogged down. Lean on the young legs as much as you can.

I don't think Pavs has to start but I do think he'll be needed for some important minutes for the rest of the playoffs.

I guess it's because we are used to watching Ray be very good.. but....

People, Sasha and Pietrus are very bad.
